Forums - Gaming - Xbox1 backward compatilibity just dropped a deuce on PS Now.

Its a bit late, but its a good move. They definitly 1-uped Sony there. And they managed to also deliver a little stab at Nintendo saying they werent going to charge us again for games we already bought. Enjoyed that.

Backward compatibility has done wonders for Wii U sales.

LOL!

It might not seem possible, but the WiiU's sales would likely be worse without it.

I feel people are confused. People are comparing apples to oranges.

PS Now is not about giving backward compatibility....PSNow is compatible with Bravia TVs (soon samsung and other brand TVs), PS3, PSV, and soon will be on android and iOS as well. It's a platform to stream games. Heck, there's nothing stopping PSNow from being on Xbox AND WiiU (and to be honest, it would be in Sony's best interest to have the platform there as well).

PS4 has no BC solution as of this moment.

Maybe, I can't say with confidence that it didn't affect sales. I just thought the "wonders" part was pretty funny.

I am one of Wii U's biggest supporters by the way. I love that console!

Even as a PS fan, I was impressed with Xbox1 backward compatibility.  The PS Now is so anti-consumer, and I hate it.  You have to pay premium for a somewhat laggy, pixelated version of last-gen games regardless if you already owned that PS3 game.  I realize the PS3 is a completely different architecture from PS4, so it would be much more difficult for PS4 to have backward compatibility.  But Sony needs to respond to this.  At least give free PS Now on PS4 for games already owned on PS3.

Thanks, it makes a bunch of people happy.  It makes me happy as I like playing on my Xbox One more than my other consoles.

So many people here are trying to say it's bad, or pathetic to be happy of it.

Glad to have someone that's above it.

Does PS Now let you stream old games yet?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

PS Now has ~ 350 games available on the service (127ish for the sub), with 5-10 being added a week (5 to the sub a month).

As for the person you were replying to - he clearly hasn't used the service on the PS4 using an ethernet cable. The ONLY time i experience any issues is when i'm using my Vita... and thats because Wifi is retarded for gaming in general.

PS Now stuff would be cool if the service wasn't so terrible.

What is bad about the service? Since adding the sub model, there's not much to complain about....

Excellent move by Microsoft. This won me over into making the Xbox One my 2nd Gen 8 console purchase for next year.

Yes, what do you think it's for? :? Do you mean like PS1 and PS2 games as well?

I'm in the UK Beta, I played (for free so didn't mind), Bioshock Infinite and a few others, the service is really good, quality is great, I had 1 issue through 2 playthroughs of Bioshock. It slowed down a little and lowered the quality from HD to, well not, but that was my issue.

Hmm, pie.
