Forums - Gaming - Xbox1 backward compatilibity just dropped a deuce on PS Now.

Guys, take a step back and look at the facts. Xbone's b/c is limited. PS now is a different service. Apples and oranges and stuff.
Microsoft did not force Sony to do anything, b/c will not change the future of any of these consoles. How many people bought a next gen console to play old games?

Yes, people MIGHT be more inclined to upgrade now. So what? How does that impact your console experience? Spoiler alert: It doesn't.

Hype is nice, but don't let it go overboard.

I'm sure Sony will respond somehow. Although its not really something that big which they really need to respond to.

People didn't care about backwards compatibility before and they won't now.

Pretty sure there's a lot of people who do care about b/c.

Not enough to make any kind of difference. Realistically, what's the market that cares about b/c?

Even as a PS fan, I was impressed with Xbox1 backward compatibility.  The PS Now is so anti-consumer, and I hate it.  You have to pay premium for a somewhat laggy, pixelated version of last-gen games regardless if you already owned that PS3 game.  I realize the PS3 is a completely different architecture from PS4, so it would be much more difficult for PS4 to have backward compatibility.  But Sony needs to respond to this.  At least give free PS Now on PS4 for games already owned on PS3.

It's only, like, 18 games. Compared to PSNow's, what, 150+?

PS Now has like 350 games available to stream -- but only 127ish of them are on the subscription.

Backward compatibility has done wonders for Wii U sales.

I gave my 360 to one of my cousins and was just talking to a friend the other day when discussing ESO that id love to play through Fallout 3 and NV again especially since you can buy the Ultimate versions of each for $15. Even if i still owned the 360 it would be a lot of clutter keeping it hooked up and keeping controllers around.

Plus i am used to the much faster OS of the Xbox One, and you can use the perks of the Xbone OS with 360 games.

Lastly, these consoles have had huge droughts some times between big games. Now I could fill those in with other games. For example i barely touched Gears 2 and 3 SP. After I play the Ultimate version of Gears, maybe down the line I buy Gears 2 and 3 for dirt cheap to plow through those beforr Gears 4?

Its a great feature and instantly adds hundreds and hundreds of titles to the library that the competition doesnt have.

Next time don't give away your console. Also it takes what, 30 less seconds to boot a game on xbone compared to 360 ? Except if your play sessions of 5 minutes on homconsoles, that won't change much.

Finally it doesn't add tons of games. It recycles tons of games you're supposed to already be able to play. When ffXV comes out, i can play ffvii->XIII if i want before the release, i won't need backward compatibility for that.

Nah, I'll keep giving them away. And Im talking about complete use of the OS, not just faster loading. Streaming gameplay online, snapping apps such as TV or party chat, etc. The best things about the Xbone and PS4 imho are the better UI and OS of the console.

Glad you can play whatever FF. And now I can get back in/catch up on some 360 games I missed. Seems a win win for everyone so not sure why youd be confused why people are excited for it.

LOL!

Backward compatibility is nice, yeah, but it's nothing compared to new and great games. You buy a new consoles for new games, not the ones you already have on your current console.

So it will maybe attract gamers who are really hesitant between PS4 and One, but right now (and even before Sony's conference), I don't think people are all this hesitant between the two.

You realize it'll be over 100 games when the feature formerly launches this holiday, right?
