Makes no sense. Games are still coming out for it. I actually expect some special hardware deals to celebrate 10 years this fall. It's also a gateway into Xbox Live, sells crazy amount of software, and has more pricing wiggle room. If there is any truth to this rumor Microsoft is not very intelligent.

If this is true, then I can only guess that the X1 will have some sort of data transferring capability (maybe backwards compatibility) announced at E3.

Maybe a price cut again too to convince anyone holding out on getting one to get an X1 instead of the supposedly discontinued 360.

Apparently the source has given them correct info in the past, according to someone on gaf. Seems unlikely to me though.

UNDER 10 years, not over. December '05 to July '15 is a few eggs short of an omelet.

EDIT: This could also explain Best Buy's corny trade in deal. They're trying to get their hands on more so they can continue selling them long after discontinuation.
