I'm amused that 38 people have voted no yet not a single one has explained why. Says a lot, really.

I even tried flat out inviting anyone who had voted no to share their opinion, but no takers.

It's up to 45 "no" voters as of writing this, and the closest we've gotten to an explanation of why is an undecided poster pointing out that Tropical Freeze is only slightly over a million.

Isn't the internet a wonderful place?

No doubt. When Nintendo polled "Club Nintendo" members earlier this year, we ranked Yarn Yoshi behind only Zelda for "most anticipated game", well ahead of Star Fox, Splatoon, and Xenoblade X.

If it is Nintendo 1st party made then yes. Nintendo fans often tend to buy anything that Nintendo themselves make. Outsourced stuff like Metriod: Other M and DKC: Tropical Freeze aren't always as successful.

You mean third party like Xenoblade.

Both Monolith Soft and Retro Studios are overwhelmingly owned by Nintendo, making said games first party games.

It definitely should. It won't sell a crazy amount because it is 2D and not a mainline Super Mario game but it sure does look super polished just like MK8, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Smash Bros. etc. I'm so getting a Wii U when the price drops. Give me F Zero and a Metroid and I'll buy one tomorrow!

I'm sorry, I should've known that my post would be confusing for newcomers like you.

I see you were disputing his use of "outsourced" and "DKC: Tropical Freeze"? I think what he meant by "outsourced" in this context is that it was developed by a subsidary of Nintendo rather than Nintendo proper. It is the same way Dell can "outsource" Alienware to create gaming desktops. Then again his first sentence seems to contradict this, "If it is Nintendo 1st party made then yes."

That's why I thought he wasn't considering Retro first party. Besides, Nintendo EAD has proved to be perfectly capable of making flops like Steel Diver, so the other argument doesn't hold any water.
