Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft announces partnership with Ocolus!!! early E3 Megaton!

Cool I guess, I don't care for VR (at least until we have it on SAO (Sword Art Online) level, which is probably decades away).

suddenly OR doesn't sound quite so doomed.

this partnership really makes sense, good move for both parties.

Good thing from MS, but not a megaton for me since it's not really XOne compatible. So I'm not sure about the XOne titles compatibility with VR : why bother adapting a game for VR if it's only for the streaming-on-pc thing ? And if you want to make a MS VR game, why don't you just make a PC game ?

They should push their move further and help to make the Oculus really One-compatible. With this "megaton", MS will mainly sell controllers, not a lot more. We'll see how that turn out.

(But maybe I don't fully understand the announcement ?)

So does it work on Xbox?

That will be interesting to see.. I am willing to bet it will...man, FB + MS advertisement will be crazy for this thing.

Did they say it would work on Xbox?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

The partnership is for me a megaton. But I know I am one of the few Rift lovers around here =p. Hope those Xbox one games get better integrated than what they showed now ^^'.

Good move. I'm also wondering if this means that Oculus wont work directly on Xbox...or any current console for that matter.

What we know is that there's a partnership and for now it consists of

OR ships with X1 controller

You can stream X1 games to OR, in honestly the dumbest way possible. There's a "VR living room" and the game shows on a fake TV

So it's not compatible with Xbox? I'm confused.

I assume it's going to be whenever there are any X1 VR games.

I'm really curious about all VR tech and the MS/FB partnership is really interesting (and could even lead to other things outside of video games). But if it's just the "VR room" shown, I find it really lame, the VR doesn't bring anything :/
