I feel bad for Phil just by watching that
He tries to bring back gamers to XB1 and got laugh instead.
Poor Phil

Actually u can add PS4 controller on PC already so using OC with PS4 Dualshock 4 is also possible, So it's not a megaton. And also i thought Oculus will be compatible with Xbox One but it just selling their controller inside Oculus Rift. Meh it's a trap megaton lol.

Well I mean it was just a solid business choice. If they had gone with their own solution it would have been DOA. The thing is the latest reviews of Morpheus put it possibly as BETTER than Oculous. The real question for me will be if morpheus will have any support for PC. Even if it is just modded in and forced to emulate oculous (Like PS4-360 controller) it would be fine with me.
Prediction for console Lifetime sales:
Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million
[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]
3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m
I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

Actually it's PC exclusive. However you also require the Xbox One Console Accessory in order to be able to utilise this functionality XD
Did anyone read this:

They are only using Oculus as a virtual monitor. It doesn't have any of the VR stuff.
Haha honestly then they just did this so they could pretend their console has VR support. Might actually be smart, although somewhat anti-consumer.
EDIT: Oh ok people are already discussing this.

So essentially, to be broken down to arbitrary console war terms we can all understand:
Rift now in MS's camp. Ocolus has more exposure, a legitimate release date, bundled with a Xbox controller and almost universally approved of by gamers.
Ocolus > Morpheus
MS > Sony in the VR space.
Edit: Though I see the other camp is allready doing a great job dismantling this news to make it null and void. Should have known lol

I'm confused by a few things. How do you think it's in MS's camp? Really awkward that you (and the OP) spelled Oculus wrong. Which is kinda exposure ish. Overall I would agree that OR has more exposure though. Legitimate release date is confusing to me as well. The most recent date from Sony was the same date as OR. "Q1 2016" Oculus's show was very rough, and I'm not seeing many people in great approval of it. (In fact I've seen a few suggest that Oculus basically handed Sony the lead. I don't agree with that sentiment, but we will see how things go.) Sony is still very much ahead in the VR space. Hololens is not VR, and Oculus is not coming to Xbox One (yet). The only thing that has been shown is VR streaming. Thus all the "Living room in your living room" jokes. There is no VR on Xbox One yet. People aren't dismantling any news because they are playing favorites, they are dismantling it, because so far we haven't seen anything that is a positive. |
That was really well put, and I agree with every word of it.

Wait what?!?! You are serious? Wow OK well lets get one thing straight minus the virtual couch it really isn't VR at all!!! Next its not even possible to use this with just an X1. Lastly the exposure its getting isn't a good thing, have you seen the reactions to this? It's the laughing stock of the gaming community right now. The only thing this is accomplishing is tarnishing the perception of VR as a whole regardless of "Camp".
