It isn't a surprise to see a Paper Mario installment announced for the Wii U, the thing I'm skeptical of is its release window. When a new game (that will be sold at retail) is first revealed at E3, it is extremely unlikely to be released within later that year. At the time of typing this out, I can't recall the most recent game that was revealed at E3 and came out later that year. Feel free to point it out...

LittleBigPlanet 3 just last year.

I sure hope the next Paper Mario goes back to the style of the first two... none of this platforming or sticker nonesense!

Hopefully. I want NY Paper Mario fix! :)

Busy year for IS, but I hope it would be them that develops it. I'd be psyched for a new PM game!

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

IMO that doesn't make much sense.

Zelda and PM in the same year is "only" going to hurt PM. Zelda is the bigger and more anticipated and teased at game.

PM and Mario Maker, can only be beneficial to PM cause Create your Own games like LBP and Spark can do well, but don't really pushing anything else out.

I don't understand how Zelda can impact PM, honestly. Unless they're releasing at the same time, of course. They're are totally different games, with different artstyles, different genres (yeah, zelda just has some rpg elements, that doesn't make it an RPG) and different purposes.

Its not the style that conflicts, its just the fact that consumers who can't buy both will have to choose one, and in that they will compete, with Zelda winning most of those decisions because of hype. And a purchase deffered, is basically a lost purchase. That being said the risk might be diminished since this rule kind of applies in general, thats why releasing games with COD hurts them.

The risk might be small, but if they release with Mario Maker the risk is virtually null, and Small is still a lot bigger then Zero.
