For instance Fire Emblem most likely has its own team (Awakening released in 2012, If in 2015, most likely 3 years in development), Pushmo most likely has its own team (releases in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015). Sticker Star released in 2012, Game & Wario in 2013, Codename STEAM in 2015, I doubt the same team worked on those three. Basically I give up trying to predict when these guys can be ready to release a game, it's like they just spawn a new game from nothing whenever they feel like it. They aren't even that big, only 130 people, pretty average size for a game studio. Their efficiency and versatility is mind boggling. |
As I understand it they can typically handle two retail and (sometimes) one smaller game simultaneously, depending on the scope of the projects and how much they have to assist other studios. Right now they've got Fire Emblem on their plate, and both STEAM and Pushmo just released. Additionally they've almost certainly been chipping in with SMT x FE, at the least, though to what degree is an open question.
I just have a hard time seeing them working on a Paper Mario title that's ready for release this year.
No idea, but hopefully there will be!

IMO that doesn't make much sense. Zelda and PM in the same year is "only" going to hurt PM. Zelda is the bigger and more anticipated and teased at game. PM and Mario Maker, can only be beneficial to PM cause Create your Own games like LBP and Spark can do well, but don't really pushing anything else out. |
I don't understand how Zelda can impact PM, honestly. Unless they're releasing at the same time, of course. They're are totally different games, with different artstyles, different genres (yeah, zelda just has some rpg elements, that doesn't make it an RPG) and different purposes.
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I think Paper Mario can be really well done on Wii U. I just want there to be party members and a stage. Whatever changes they make is fine but I want a Goomba, Koopa, etc. on my team and a stage based battle system. If you're gonna do Paper Mario do it right, TTYD right that is.

This wouldn't surprise or interest me to be honest.
It isn't a surprise to see a Paper Mario installment announced for the Wii U, the thing I'm skeptical of is its release window. When a new game (that will be sold at retail) is first revealed at E3, it is extremely unlikely to be released within later that year. At the time of typing this out, I can't recall the most recent game that was revealed at E3 and came out later that year. Feel free to point it out...

In the Paper Mario series, or just any Nintendo game?
If you're talking about Paper Mario, none of them have but honestly, Super Paper Mario likely would have if it wasn't moved to the Wii.
If you're talking about Nintendo, examples that come to mind include Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Super Mario 3D World.
It was directed more towards the Paper mario series, though I should have paraphrased that to include the Mario & Luigi series, as well as other Mario themed RPGs.
