This person definitely sounds harsh BUT I wouldnt be surprised if this game is a little worse than Xenoblade.

Tachikoma already has, her indepth look at XCX was, vastly, vastly more compelling, not to mention her twitch streams.
If you feel the authors criticisms don't have merit please explain why.

It's an open world RPG. They're not designed to not be boring. They're designed so you can run around and look at stuff in a big world.
Still seems though that they might've chosen the wrong reviewer for this. Though he could be on to something. Mechs and guns do nothing for me, especially in RPGs. It definitely looks more boring than the first at least.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

With all due respect to Tachikoma she is just one gamer/reviewer/streamer. Google Translate (lol) shows Japanese gamers stating various complaints. Most of those user reviews rate "Level of satisfaction" and "Comfort (dafaq)" at 2pts (guess out of 5) for example, not exactly glowing. Kotaku may be way of the mark but lets not throw everything out the window.
