It's an open world RPG. They're not designed to not be boring. They're designed so you can run around and look at stuff in a big world.
Still seems though that they might've chosen the wrong reviewer for this. Though he could be on to something. Mechs and guns do nothing for me, especially in RPGs. It definitely looks more boring than the first at least.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
