Forums - Gaming - Why some ppl just refuse to enjoy all games :(

I say some people do it, because they are fed up with the love and endearment a console/series gets. Or they have their fix and are like: Everything else is BS. Other reason is just blind hatred. I don't really understand why people love the world to burn. I love Halo. But I won't buy a Xbox for that sole game. So I haven't touched it since H2. But I still follow the series other ways.

because no every game is enjoyable

The OP is right. Just because there is a game you don't personally like, it doesn't mean you should call it "garbage". There's such a thing as "not my cup of tea". Wish more people would realize that.

There are plenty of things I hated about Persona 4 Golden, but I decided to stick with the game and ended up having an incredible experience. But even if I ended up hating parts of it or not enjoying the game overall, I'd still be aware that that doesn't automatically make the game garbage. It just makes it something that doesn't match my tastes.

And yes, fanboys are called fanoboys for a reason. They don't apply logic and have blind faith in their company of choice, and try to convince themselves that the competition is trash, when it's far from it. Even if you don't like Ninty/cartoony games or old IP's, you can still see that the quality is there.

I found the battle system in Nino Kuni perfect. Others hated it. I hate the battle system in the Witcher. I still get that even though it's not just me, there are plenty of people who actually enjoy it; it's not trash, just not the kind of game I want to play.

But you can find sad, close minded people everywhere. Pop music, movies, politics, sports, etc.

Because different demogtaphics enjoy different games.

If I don't play most shooters, Arcade racers, MMO's or RTS', it's not out of some childish spite; I quite simply don't enjoy those genres much.
We should not confuse preference with spite, that leaves us with a highly faulty image of consumers and gamers in general.

I think the OP's point is that you can acknowledge how good a game/console is without it being a game you'd personally love to play.

Saying that Wiiu/ps4/xb1 has no games is spite. Saying that "none of the games announced or released on x platform interests me" is preference.

Well, firstly, I think it's unrealistic to expect everyone to like all games. That's...not how individuals work. Everyone has differing tastes. And that's honestly what makes humans great, and it's what keeps the industry churning out a vast variety of games.

That having been said, a small clarification. I don't think (or at least, agree) that Nintendo games are 'childish', however, by their own statements, they don't particularly care for developing mature titles. Now, does that mean every game they make is 'childish', or simply more tailored to a younger audience? And who cares about that? I mean really?

As far as other platforms, well, I think as I've aged I've softened quite a bit with regards to other peoples choices. However, I still have personal issues w/ Microsoft that don't necessarily have anything to do with console gaming. With Nintendo, I just have a wider variety of tastes, and don't feel that Nintendo caters to them all quite as much as Sony. However, it's not like my way is the best way, or the only way. It's simply my way.

Yeah, the title is kinda misleading.

In that case; I do this all the time, there is nothing wrong with admiring a game for its quality even though it's not up your alley.

Even if i would own all systems i still would love my ps4 more. I own for example the xbox, dreamcast and ps2 yet i still play more on my ps2 than the other two by a lot.
The smoothnis of the OS and the power of the ps4 are things you cant talk away.

I don't think people should force themselves to enjoy all games, but I do think that people need to be a lot more respectful of what people like and not purposefully shit on it just for satisfaction.

But as we all know, this is the internet (and VGC) so that will never happen.
