It's much cheaper to pledge your alliance to one console and sell your soul as well as common sense ( Quite ironic in my case ). Same as you I play a ton of games at a friends house, I like Halo more than most of Sony's own IP's.

I was a big Sony fanboy until I got money to buy whatever console I wanted so I started to enjoy the Wii U, and now love Nintendo when before I couldn't care less. Will probably do the same thing with the XBox One. People spend a lot of money on a console then need to keep constantly justifying in their mind why the heck they did it in the first place. So the fanboyism starts because they want their console to be the best. It is actually a normal thing and an understandable one. It also brings funny situations like the console wars, so I think it is not a big deal most of the time.

You're a good person for being bothered with the insults but not doing the same thing. Just try to enjoy your games and filter the bad things you see online. You know better than them.

Nothing breaks my immersion more. Except for plot holes in porn. None of the pizza guys that deliver to my house will accept sex as payment, but in porn they all do. Completely ruins the believability.

But it's one of those things. Different people look for different things in gaming and different personalities lead to differing conflicts of interest. I don't personally understand why one box is better than another, or why some people don't enjoy the Layton games, or how people can enjoy CoD titles. But everyone's different and that's what creates an active and thriving community. Being able to accept these differences and acknowledge different points of views to your own isn't an easy thing and it's something that causes a lot of these disagreements.

You accurately say in your OP to "respect" one another and that's really the key. Sure, you may be a big fan of Just Dance and I'll never understand why, but what's the point of insulting someone for their opinion just becaue you don't share it? Play the games and not the console or the person and you'll have a whole lot more fun.

I like both but yea, short haired + glasses are certainly sexy!!! I also hate when they are kissing but then u move the camera to a different angle only to realize that the tongues aren't actually touching T_T

People who don't like a certain game aren't refusing to enjoy it. I'm not a fan of baseball, doesn't mean i'm refusing to enjoy the sport, because in no way is baseball objectively good. Some people just wont like it.
