Basically Platinum Games has been at E3 with Nintendo for the past 3 years, so there is no way to truly place the importance of the info. But we know it will be something for the Wii U *edit* Nintendo there, and that alone is enough to get excited. |
You're mistaken. :P sorry. Bayo 2 was first announced in the September 2012 Wii U 'event' (I don't think they called it a Direct). Wonderful 101 was revealed (as P-100) four months prior to that, at E3. Both games were "shown" (Bayo 2 wasn't really "shown" but it was discussed) in the January 2013 Wii U Direct. Both games were shown at E3 that year. Then I think W101 was shown again in a July Direct or something, when they announced it would get its own dedicated Direct. Don't remember whether Bayo 2 was shown in that July Direct. But there were at least two times W101 was shown that Bayo 2 was not -- E3 2012, and the W101 dedicated Direct.
Anyway, now that I think about it Kamiya is the director attached to Scalebound, which makes it unlikely this new game will also be directed by him. I suppose that makes it more likely to be Hashimoto. It could also be MG Rising 2, since the first one was directed by Kenji Saito. It's also possible for the Digital Event retweet to be teasing something unrelated to the new game -- could be Bayo 2 DLC, with Rising 2 being revealed with IGN, or something. Doesn't matter, E3 starts in 5 days and I'm hyped.

Platinum has been with Nintendo every E3 since 2012, and will be again this year (I believe, it's where the signs point to).

I mean, you're right about that, but I don't know if you think the links you posted proved that you were not mistaken. You said, "they've been showing Bayo 2 since the first Wii U E3 if I'm not mistaken." Disregarding the fact that "the first Wii U E3" really was 2011, Bayo 2 was not shown at E3 2012, either. So that statement was incorrect.
