Because they are the only ones that offered a console that is all about gaming and has all the big games. They never tried to add or remove anything, just gave exactly what is expected of a games console and are being rewarded for that.

this is cool and true, but women like different positions <-- metaphor

They win by default, they have the universal console.
The X1 is to much UK, US oriented
If you pick the wii U, you gain a few games but lose so many
So the PS4 is the only choice left to win world wide
gg

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Playstation always win, they are the gaming developer no.1!!!
They have awesome consoles with the best games on their consoles!!!

Because Sony won every other gen. It's only logical and perfectly reasonable when you think about it, you don't even need to explain it.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Because they have the best games out and the best games coming.

Sorry.

Because Europe. They dominate there. In North America, I'd say XBox is still the (slightly) bigger brand. I'm Canadian and I'd say it's like 55%XBox 45%PS4 among people I know. MS botched the launch a bit with One, mostly with the pricing. But since that was corrected most people are simply upgrading their PS360 to whatever they owned before. People like their online accounts.

Saying it's about the games is silly. The vast majority of buyers of either MS or Sony want to play the multiplats. Halo, Uncharted, etc are secondary titles to COD, FIFA, Madden, NHL, GTA, etc.

Nintendo is a whole other story. Their image is terrible and their product doesn't offer the third party mega hits. Combined with the online accounts from gen 7 that gamers want to keep, they have a hard road ahead converting customers. They just aren't in the discussion at the moment.

Worldwide presence and third party support they cultivated by making a system for gamers and developers.

Because they didn't do as much wrong as Microsoft and Nintendo.
