from my perspective, the ps4 is their less appealing console, compared to the ps1, 2 and 3.

true, the ps4 looks like the best option compared to the wii u and the xbox one.
They won the marketing war... so they won the generation, simple.
As a guy who likes all three, Nintendo and Microsoft just dropped the ball on a lot of things and lost sight of what was actually important. Sony just said, "Here's an awesome system for a good price, and it plays games because games are awesome." Apparently (go figure), that's what gamers were looking for.
Good marketing, launched at right price, MS messed up consoles reveal, Ninty launched at wrong time priced to high, good games, good variety of games, popular first party IPs and a good reputation for 1st party development.
Not saying that Sony have the best games or the best 1st party developers on their consoles because that's subjective. But they have both games and developers of high standard, mix in the other points above and you get the success they have right now.
Xbox was never going to win this gen but the gap is bigger than expected because MS mention "DRM"

Compared to the other two competitor's system its the most appealing.

I wonder what replies in here award that fanboy label, I see none. Maybe if those replies are so fanboy material you can point them out and ridicule them. So far there have been good explanations all around. Maybe your thread had one aim that backfired and now you want it closed. Maybe next time put a disclaimer reading (agree with me or fuck off).
