The PS4 is winning because of Sony's arrogance.

Sony is also winning not because they did everything right. Nah. That can never be it. They're winning because the others have messed up. Not because Sony has any merit or made a product people actually want.

If there is any other reason that removes any merit from Sony and put the blame on the competition... That reason too.

As much as you want to think that third parties doesn't count, people look at the overall console library which by looking at the multiplatform sales, ps4 is the place to play those games.  That maybe you don't like third parties games or see them as bad games, it doesn't matter, what really matter is what the masses want.

xbox: has better games overall but nobody ask them to try to pull the DRM fiasco that nobody asked for.  Now people got afraid that they might do it again.

Criticize playstation all you want but at least in the console space, they have deliver in every generation.  Even with the ps vita they at least tried but the sales of the games were poorly. it won't happen with ps4.  And again the most important thing is the overall library which include both first parties + third parties.

Wii U might have better exclusives than ps4 but overall which is what really matter, ps4 > Wii U.

My point wasn´t that WiiU is a better console though, but calling PS4 "The best console by a long way" is just ... absurd imo

The console doesn´t do anything better than XBO, is just a bit more powerfull.... how can be the best by a long shot? All the problems with XBO at first don´t exists anymore, they share 95% of multiplatforms and xbo has more quality exclusives.

So ps4 is not the one with better exclusives (that´s wiiu) and it´s not the best balanced between exclusives/multiplatforms/price.... so how can be "the best console by a long way"?

I wasn´t saying that the console was bad per se or something like that.

By looking at this all I see is that you were trying to imply that ps4 doesn't have anything on it to sell the console which is completely false.  Now nobody can say  that ps4 is the best console by a long shot as a fact but there are also reason why ps4 is selling great that goes beyond marketing and those reasons are backed up by 3 generations before it. 

As you can see in my previous post, as of now, I accepted that xbox one has the better overall library of games but the sales of the console were affected by their early decisions, never intended to say that ps4 is better than xbox one, only explained to you why it hasn't sell in the same way ps4 is selling.

Could you say anything that's more baseless than that? Playstation consoles consistently dominate their gens. That's not because of "hype" but because sony consistently makes quality consoles and has the most diverse game libraries.

Because it's the best console on the market, simple as that.

Hardware wise, it's the best out of the 3.
And for the games, they have the third-party (same as Ms, not for Nintendo), first party (very great on nintendo, but Ms...) and japaneses games (not on nintendo, not on xbox, because obvious reasons) + indies who missed on ps3.

But what i said here is only for people who play a lot, so generally , it's mostly because :

It's THE playstation.

TBH honest, it really comes down to Nintendo mishandling the Wii U and Microsoft mishandling the XB1. From the moment those systems have been announced all throughout the early years, both companies just completely derped on their platforms. Sony pretty much took advantage of this and marketed their system around the other systems shortcomings. The phrase Why buy a new console to play old games and the sharing video are great examples of this. Microsoft pretty much gave Sony the global market and to this day people still don't understand what the Wii U is. It's a shame really. The all 3 systems have their shortcomings and their strong points but Microsoft shot their system in the foot out the gate and Nintendo just completely derped.

I can only see it from my point of view and in my experience people simply buy a playstation console because it is PLAYSTATION.

Sony has done a wonderful job at basically making people think that console=playstation, at least in my country.
