They both have good games and that is all I care about

Vita deserves even less than it did. It was an expensive handheld with no games. it had little to no support from sony since launch. there's no point in using the memory cards as excuses for it's failure, it lacks games.

Wii U on the other hand has the best games and the lowest price of the 8th gen + free online. It's trully a console for gamers and deserved much more. It's only selling bad because of sony and microsoft false advertising and ilegal bribery of third parties so they skip Wii U. also, "Now the Wii U has better support, but where MS is getting crap for releasing sequels, Nintendo does seem to come away with it easily." You know it's a pathetic OP when the main "argument" is 100% BS. it's amazing how not even haters can find negative things about nintendo games, so they complain about most being sequels, wich bears no relevance to game quality.

I am reading so much things which are wrong... You are praising the Wii U and hating the Vita...

- Vita got as much good AAA games from Sony as Wii U got from Nintendo (even if Vita games > Wii U games imo but everyone has a different opinion)
- Vita has much more new IP's than Wii U
- Vita has a better Third-Party support
- Vita and Wii U have both free online
- Vita and Wii U are both backward compatible

-Sony completely abandoned Vita and even cut some very imported features like YouTube or Maps.

-Nintendo giving 100% support to Wii U

The Wii U and it's gamepad is made for strategy games (Advance Wars/Fire Emblem-esque or a Civilization type of game). I don't understand what Nintendo is doing.

I am a Nintendo fanatic.

Speaking from experience, both are garbage. Neither is better than the other and both deserve the sales they have now. There's a strange obsession in the forums over these 2 unrelated devices for whatever reason. Are people really so insecure about the platform of their choice that they have to justify the consoles failure to feel good about their purchase? I like them both, but both systems have huge flaws in them.

The Vita has the most ridiculous memory card prices ever. I mean seriously, $40 for a fucking 16gb memory card? Screw that, I'll buy something better for cheaper. The system is also full of ports, it's got a few unique and amazing games but they'll go unnoticed by the majority of people. Not only that, a lot of games that ARE good are digital only releases... which means you have to buy a larger memory card because those games are often 2-4gb+ and that'll quickly fill up the $10 4gb memory card you bought, which by the way most stores don't even sell anymore! So even if you DO buy only physical you now have to spend $20 for an 8gb memory card unless you wanna hunt down a 4gb online...

The Wii U has had a ridiculously long drought. For a company as large as Nintendo to neglect their IPs is bullshit. Maybe they hid it better last gen with the Wii, but this generation you can see it first hand without the millions of shovelware games being thrown at your face. Even if you like all the games they're releasing then there's only like 3-4 games actually worth buying. Half of which are freaking Mario titles, not even a proper 3D main on top of that. Are you a Zelda fan? Well too bad because it was delayed the same way XCX, Mario Maker, and a million other titles on the system are/were. I didn't even want a Wii U until XCX finally came out (my gf made me buy one ). So for now I'm stuck with SSB, SM3DW, and MK8, which are good to decent, but not worth owning the system for. Especially not the price. $300 for a system that's barely stronger than my PS3? For $50-$100 I could buy an X1/PS4 which will have MUCH MUCH better support in the long run, not only that they're more powerful! Plus they don't have a stupidly small storage capacity, 8-32gb standard?! Don't get me started on that controller either.

Neither are that great. People gotta stop defending these turds. Both lack games worth owning and neither will have very long lifespans either.

Around the Network

I'm really interested in XCX, FFV and SMT x FE. But until any of these are out there are 0 games on the Wii U that I want to play. So i'd agree on it deserving this
Vita has too many gaemz for me, can't keep up. Deserved more but nothing to be done about people's taste.. or Sony's business decisions (memory cards)

So I am going to get a lot hate for this, but if you care to read the post you might understand why this article is written. Now the case on PS vita is simple it failed as a hardware device due to the strange memory cards, and even though it's first year was quite good, it dropped soon enough. Even Sony doesn't support the handheld anymore and except Japan the handheld is already considered a relic. Yes that means it has crappy support and is near dead. It doesn't deserve to sell more than 17.5 million LT.

Now the Wii U has better support, but where MS is getting crap for releasing sequels, Nintendo does seem to come away with it easily. If we count only true new games from Nintendo and not direct sequels or some sort of spinoffs, Nintendoland, (Decent) Splatoon (Good) and the W101 (Good) are the only games which are actually new. For the sake of it I like Nintendo reviving bayo 2, but there was no way this was going to be a succes. If we count this year, except Splatoon I have to see what other game is really worth buying this year.

While the PS4 already got Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, Pcars and Mortal kombat X for this year. Sony and MS have already published more or are a tie in NEW IP's while they are a year behind. For MS it is Ori, (Great) Rise (mediocre) and Sunset Overdrive (Good). For Sony it is Knack, (mediocre) The order, (mediocre) Driveclub (decent) and Bloodborne (Greatness). Even though the quality of those games is sometimes doubtful I got to apreciate the risc they where willing to take where Nintendo plays very safe. Inluding the lack of Third Party support the Wii doesn't deserve 20 million units since that would be an insult to the gamecube and the dreamcast. Which both did to deserve to sell more.

I got a Wii U and even though I enjoy MK 8, SM3DW and SSB, this is my last Ninty console. Simply because the draughts are on the verge of idiotic especially when you release a 2d platformer to release nothing meaningful for 3/4 months. So do you agree these consoles deserve the crappy sales ordo you thin either (probaly Wii U), deserves more sales and have equal or more value than the PS4 or Xone.

No one deserves any success this generation so far.

PS4 and XB1 are sh*t right now too and have their share of droughts and tons of freaking let downs. This will be the THIRD straight holiday season for the PS4 without a real big in-house original title. Uncharted Collection, a remake of PS3 games is likely going to be their big title for the holiday, which is pathetic.

Bloodborne is their only great release from Sony in the last 12 months and unlike Nintendo they haven't supported the Vita for sh*t either. Microsoft's big release of the last 12 months is Halo: Master Chief Collection (yet another last gen remake) and they can't even get that right, it's been horribly mismanaged.

Nintendo has release Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros., Captain Toad, and some good handheld games to go with that in the last 12 months. Also ragging on Nintendo for not enough original IP while praising crap like Knack and citing things like Mortal Kombat TEN (lol) and Witcher III is rich.

Nintendo was just stupid to make another console that alienated third parties by being a generation behind tech wise again, thus putting all their hopes on the fickle casual crowd and a controller gimmick again, and it back fired. Simple enough.

The Vita is a nicely desigend handheld, but Sony can't compete against smartphones and Sony gave up the moment they got their nose bloodied. They don't have the disposition to fight for their handhelds. Just admit the real reason, memory cards being $15-$20 overpriced is a bogus reason considering you have no problem paying $50-$60 for PS4/XB1 controllers that really cost $1 to make.

No offence too, but the GameCube is overrated. Mario Kart 8 >>> Double Dash, 3D World > Sunshine, Splatoon >> Pikmin, Tropical Freeze > Jungle Beat, Smash = Smash, Zelda Wii U when it does finally come out probably will be better than Wind Waker, which was rushed to market.

Who buys 2 Xone or PS4 controllers and don't pretend the Pro controller is much cheaper. There are great 3rd party IP's, like shadow of mordor and the evil within which are good, feel fresh and are a nice change of pace from the usual games which are good to.  I am talking about a console not just about his creator so it's only fair to compare the full libraries of each console/handheld. For each Nintendo game there is a good game to be found on the PS4.

Killzone could be considered big and sold over 2 million long before VGchartz numbers according to Sony. So that could be considered big. Infamous also did pretty big numbers,.although outside holiday season.

If you're so insecure that you directly read MK X but fail to read titles in 2015 referring to the 3rd major draught of the Wii U. That says more about Wii U's uninspiring line-up than the line-up of the Twins which offered way more the last 6 months.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I already said Nintendo made a mistake in hardware design by going the "lets make a last gen console and try to sell it on a controller gimmick". That's why they don't have third party support.

But lets not pretend that sh*t don't stink equally. All three consoles lack considerably in software right now, all three have had droughts and XB1/PS4 being held up as bations of originality when a third of the "big" releases are PS3/360 remasters is laughable.

Uncharted Collection is going to be Sony's 2015 holiday title, after Last of Us Remastered was their big 2014 release, and Halo: Master Chief Collection was MS' big 2014 release.

That is pathetic.

At least Nintendo is pulling their weight as a publisher, having made several great games in the last 12-24 months. MS and Sony? Not so much. Even the supposed "third party support" that we're supposed to be fawning over ... Watch Dogs ... dissapointing overhype. Destiny? Dissapointing overhype. Maybe Batman will finally break through and be worthy of a TRUE next gen experience because right now PS4/XB1 have been two years of playing high-res PS3/360 cross-gen games and remastered "remember how cool this was on the PS3 2-3 years ago, well we're re-releasing it! Be excited!".

Gawd. Another one of those Clickbait Headlines. And shame on me, I clicked again. This is literally the fith Topic with similar Content I've seen here in the past weeks which is trending in the Hot Topics. For the most time, such a Thread is dedicated to only one System (either the Vita or the Wii U). The unique thing in this Thread here is, both Systems are the Topic. I've read a few pages, and, really no offense guys, it seems like I suffer from the VGChartz Board Fatigue-Syndrome. Just kidding, but it's getting old^^
