For the global total to be 1200 that would mean close to 80% of its games never released outside Japan. I don't think that's likely.


Vgc itself says it has over 700 games, there were a lot of nude idol games for the saturn as well in japan, and other cheap and niche stuff like that in japan.

They aren't counting the same game 3 times, the overwhelming majority of Saturn games were Japan only.

That 80% is no exaggeration.

VGChartz's listings are full of errors, cancelled or rumoured games have been listed in the past,  the same game has been listed under multiple names, etc.
