Sad news as women I lift with fell down a flight of stairs last night and hit her head killing her. She was in amazing shape, a model person for fitness and dietary habits, and just a great positive personality. Just in shock, we tend to think when we're young and healthy these sort of things don't happen.

Doing the following workout to honor her as it was her go to one outside of lifting. We can't do a lift one as everyone is going to participate and not enough bars and weights.

1 mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 squats
1 mile run

That is tragic, I am sorry for your loss.

That sounds like a great way to honor her. I imagine the gym will be a sight to see with all of you in there kicking ass!

Just weighed in, dropped another 21 pounds over the past month. In total I've lost 71 pounds. Starting to notice it a bit more in the day to day, and the doc helping me with this is giving me more latitude in my diet and workout. Still nowhere near my old strength but I am starting to feel some of it coming back which is building my confidence.

That's great to hear! Keep at it!

I suppose a tiny little update is in order.
I've been at my new job for 3 months now, so I have adapted very well to the new schedule of getting up at 5am for a few hours of physical labour before Uni. At first I was a little uncertain of whether or not I would have any energy and time for the gym after work and school, but thankfully I still have enough energy and time in my schedule to get in my normal 6 days/week. In fact, other than getting up earlier, nothing has changed! I think early rising has actually helped my mental focus during classes.
One negative thing that has happened is the price of food in Canada. Cauliflower - which admittedly I do not eat at all - is currently $14 a head where I am which is obscene! Getting fresh fruits and veggies in my diet now means I have to cut back on other areas. In fact, I have been unable to gain any weight since Christmas and remain around 202lbs. I think I am burning an insane amount of calories every day, and my student diet just doesn't allow me to eat at a surplus without ingesting "bad food".
Apart from that my PBs remain intact. This is most likely because I haven't attempted any since before Christmas. I have noticed quite a bit of gain and both strength and size since then. Recently (Saturday in fact) I was pushing 1000+lbs on the leg press with ease before my ankles began to hurt. So I guess I know now that my joints may give out before my muscle does. Never before has stretching and flexibility exercise seemed so important to me. I had somebody watch my deadlift form and I was told that my hips were beating the bar up, which means I really need to do some hip stretching and mobility exercises.
But yea, that's it! I'm still very happy with the 6 day PPl program and work in the morning has proven to be nothing but beneficial. Next in line is more time put aside for stretching and flexibility exercises, and more cardio as well. On the whole I am progressing nicely and am pretty happy with my results as of late.
As for the cosplay idea for Calgary Comic Con - well we'll have to see what comes of that. I'm thinking that I used that as more of a goal for fitness than a goal which could be wholly realized. I say this because going to Calgary takes money and I hate fashion stuff so no way am I gonna make a costume lol I'd end up looking like a Swahili bedsheet or something. Again though, nothing is set in stone!
Might post progress pics later if my phone ever works.....
Cheers and keep up the good fight!

So weird question. Why am I smelling some ammonia, cat pee like smell after I work up a sweat (on my bike)?

Am I dying?

I started lifting again this month, and I plan on keeping it going this time. I have a friend of mine who shared his work out schedule with me. I lift 3 days a week. Tuesday is triceps/biceps, Thursday is back/shoulders/chest, and Sunday is bicep/triceps with ab stuff mixed through the week. I get cardio by playing basketball/running every other day through the week. I've been lifting the last 3 weeks, and I can already tell a difference. I have a lot more energy, compared to doing only cardio before.

Eh o.O let me get back to you on that one...

I doubt you're dying though. Maybe your clothes just stink really bad?

No leg day tho?

Welcome aboard!

One of my goals is to do more lifting.
I used to do it like 3 days a week but now 1 day is more like what I get. Not that I don't exercise, I do running 4-5 days a week, and I like running more than lifting. But I often get light-headed after doing strength training for 30-45 minutes, which is probably reflective of the fact that I've gotten out of the routing of lifting.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
