But...but I like Sunshine more than I like 64. :(

So I guess I'm the only one who genuinely thinks that Sunshine was better than 64.

Seeing 3D World and the Galaxy games above Sunshine makes me moist in my bad place.

For 2D platformers: Super Mario Bros. 3
The 3D games: Super Mario Galaxy 2
And out of all the spin offs I would go with Superstar Saga.

Nope I'm right with ya brother! I found 64 to be so lame I didn't even bother finishing it whereas I 100%'ed Sunshine many times. Banjo Kazooie was the real star platformer on the N64!

Excluding Super Mario rpg legend of the seven stars and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's island, I would say Super Mario Bros. 3 truly left its mark which is seen in every mario game to this day.

1. Mario 64
2. Super Mario RPG
3. Everything else pre 2000
4. Everything post 2000

Too hard to choose and I think it would have been made easier if you did Mario platformers and a separate poll for spin-offs, so I'm going to limit myself to the former to make it easier on myself :)

2D - Super Mario World, simply awesome, still. Yoshi's Island a close second and honourable mentions to pretty much every other 2D Mario.

3D - The Galaxies, nuff said. 3D World only a lick behind with its awesome multi-player. Mario 64 gets an honourable mention. As revolutionary as it was and as awesome as it was first stepping onto Bob-omb Battlefield for the first time (i don't think that feeling will ever be matched), I feel it lacks the gameplay density of the newer games.

Not really a fan of the platformers games, so i pick Mario Kart 8

Super Mario World. It's just the most imaginative to me with some of the most creative areas and levels. Also, being able to throw objects straight up added a great gameplay element that I wish would return to 2D Mario.

And SMW2: Yoshi's Island is a close second.
