400k is much more than I expected so that's good news.

So it's first week in the US was 136k, smaller than the 145k it sold in Japan. Told you so. :p

Splatoon's first week sale in Japan is higher than US first week sales? Maybe NOA should have priced the game lower like every other region.

Isn't Japan's first week 2 days as well, with it releasing on Saturday?

splatoon came out in japan on a thursday(May 28th) sales were tracked from May 25th to 31st. So roughly 4 days I think were tracked for Splatoon's first week?

where as NPD only tracked Splatoon for like 2 days in the U.S. so  two less days in the U.S. than in Japan were tracked for first week.

So 136k in 2 days compared to 146k in 4 days is pretty good id say :O

NOJ also received complaints from stores that they didn't ship enough Splatoon copies to meet the demand.  NOA has not reported any shortages in the US, though.

And I believe most video game sales from their first week come from the first two days anyway.

Regardless, good sales so far for a new Nintendo IP. Can't wait to see what the sequel will look like if Nintendo is committed to making this their new multiplayer franchise.
