Yeah i gotta admit i vastly underpredicted the sales on this one, for JP anyway.
Grats to Nintendo, hopefully does great in other regions too.

I had figured this would sell in the same league as Captain Toad or Donkey Kong. Hitting 1 million units or more by the end of the WiiU lifetime, but not terribly much more than that

Looks like this could break past 2 or 3 million!

For what it is worth. Splatoon hit #1 video games sold on Amazon in the USA. It was also ranked #2 for a coupled days after. I purchased mine at Target around 6 pm the day of the release. All the Splatoon squirt guns were gone and they only had 3 copies of the game left. I have a feeling that it sold huge numbers outside of Japan as well.

Yo, People predicting nowhere close to 140k FW in japan and quite a few predicted W101 WW lifetime sales and just knowing japan sales we kno that Those expectations are dead wrong hence the crow 

Not really, im the one who predicted 1mil by end of june here and a few people agreed and my prediction is based off of Shipped+Digital.

Its Sold out with easily more than 150k in japan, The prediction as of now looks to have a good chance of reaching that goal and if not it'll be close. Nobody going to eat crow unless some how Splatoon shipments are way beneath 800k-900k.

I admit I was wrong in the sales side. It destroyed my prediction.

Again, Japan is totally craycray. As far as we know Japan LT > RoW LT.
