Forums - Gaming - Minecraft killer announced: Lego Worlds

It's definitely more pleasing to the eye than Minecraft.

Never had the interest to play Minecraft, but this brings back memories, lol.

That trailer was extremely underwhelming. I dislike how the building system seems to work (more like sculpting than actually building legos) and the exploration/adventure looks extremely minimal.

you can build brick by brick, how is that minimal?

ummm nothing will kill minecraft. NOTHING

If there's no modding allowed I can't really see it doing better than MC, modding exploded on MC for both offline and online making it still one of the most popular games to play on PC after nearly 5 years, modding just allows games to live on a lot longer and still feel fresh in some ways, knowing WB's incolvement they will probably lock it down so you can't mod it from the start.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Only for Steam is a shame, it's definitely not a minecraft killer either, but it does sound promising particularly for that price.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

All the footage seemed to be much larger scale and like I said, it seemed a lot like sculpting instead of building legos. I'll need some better gameplay footage, but this doesn't feel interesting. The way you build in Minecraft is significantly more personal and I think gives a better sense of accomplishment by being tied more directly into the gameworld instead of turning your character into a flying guy with a lego gun (which seems to exist outside of game logic in the adventure segments)

As for my "minimal" comment, read my comment again. That was in relation to the exploration/adventure aspects of the game.

People haven't understand my irony in the title?

Honestly, it looks a lot more appealing than Minecraft in terms of visuals.
