So after like a week of everyone teasing how awesome this reveal was gonna be this week, now word is all we're getting is specs? Fuck off....

I really think there won't be some new Xbox anymore as like "Xbox 4" but from now on always something like Scorpio every few years if they really improved the CPU that much.

With the scalable engines nowadays it doesn't make much sense that there would be an Xbox 4  in some years with games which Scorpio couldn't really handle.

So, in my opinion, XBO and Scorpio will share all games and when the next Xbox after Scorpio releases, that console will share all games with Scorpio just with worse graphic settings on Scorpio and so on...

At least that is what I think they are going to try.

I still think there will be 3-4 year cycles and games have to work on the 2 most recent designs with every console iteration getting a guarenteed 6-8 years support then after that it's up to develoeprs if they feel it's worth supporting them longer such as EA with Fifa and other yearly games will prob be worth it.

That's what I meant, maybe I didn't explain it properly. Games from now on will run on the two last Xbox releases (or more, that's just a minimum) so that everyone can play all new releases for minimum 6-8 years but after some years he won't get the best versions anymore.

I just wanted to say that I think Scorpio will get games XBO won't get but only those which also release on the console after Scorpio so that it won't get "exclusives" and the console after Scorpio will share all games with Scorpio until the next console releases.

If a console releasing 3 years after Scorpio will get games Scorpio won't get I think it would be only forced exclusivity because of how scalable engines are nowadays and as long as it will really get some nice upgrade for the CPU because that would be the big problem then.

Gotta start saving up.

And the downplaying has begun. Hey, it runs a game running in 1080p on XBO after two days of work in 4k and has still some reserves for other graphical upgrades even though some questioned if it can even run games in 4k properly but let's try to let it look like shit.

Sure, would be nice to have a better CPU but at least for DX12 games this doesn't seem to be any problem with that extra hardware thing and I guess in 2018, plenty of games will support DX12

havnt really seen any downplaying.

I think right now most people feel like the hardware has delivered on what MS promised.

Im not a "pro xbox" guy, and Im impressed with the design of it. I think the cooling solution used is smart.

DF videos showed it off in a very positiv light.

It looks like older games will need patch's to get 4k, ones without will run like normal (but more stable fps), games that run 30fps now, wont run 60fps on scorpio. However just the fact that it can actually do full native 4k is impressive.

Great day for people who love hardware specs and numbers.

Personally, i literally fell asleep while watching Digital Foundry's videos.

Ok so I don't understand shit about this tech talk but i'll be buying Scorpio no matter what. Question is, which 4k television to buy along with it. Should be 55" minimum. Samsung, Sony or something else? Any recommendations?

That's because they are locked to 30FPS. Them suddenly running at 60FPS without any kind of software modification was impossible from the start.
