I get his point there, Sony has gotten alot of Japanese exclusives by default this gen, simply because Wii U semi flopped and Xbox One majorly flopped in Japan. Just to name some of the biggers ones: Street Fighter 5, King of Fighters 14, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, World of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy X/X2 HD, Final Fantasy 12 HD, Star Ocean 5, Tales of Zestiria, Tales of Berseria, and Ni No Kuni 2, let alone countless smaller Japanese exclusives. Sony's 1st and 2nd party output has been pretty weak this gen imo; there have been a bunch of delays by them (The Last Guardian and GT Sport the most recent among them); Killzone: Shadowfall, Knack, The Order: 1886, and Driveclub were all meh. 3rd party exclusives from Japan have definitely picked up the slack left by Sony's 1st/2nd party imo. |
Thank you. Explained it better than I did.
I don't like there effort this generation. I don't mind failed trials like The Order or Drive club (at launch at least ). But don't come up with a year with only Uncharted as a big project. For three years in a row Sony fans have been saying "next year is the big year" and the end result is a very weak year.
I focused on Sony because they are the leaders this generation and you would expect a lot better from the leading console. And that is exactly what I wanted to achieve by mentioning them" how weak this generation is.

As a whole, I definitely feel Sony often tries less than MS when they lead (the same happened with the PS2 and PSP) and simply let their Japanese support carry them. They aren't aware that after a while, people will get tired of the shovelware and the AAA devs will start going multiplat and they will lose their main advantage if they don't support them more.
There's a reason I enjoy when MS is in charge.
Unlike Google, Apple and Sony, I feel MS will often try to go a bit further to have something for everyone. With the former three, it's a leave it or take it situation and it annoys me to no end. The customer is always priority number one because brand loyalty and money are one and the same.
I just wish MS would do something bolder. As it stands, nothing keeps them from starting a company financed mass porting software program to port all Android, iOS and Steam games and programs over to Windows 10 and the Xbox One. It's literally as easy as telling Valve they will threaten to remove support for Steam if they don't hand over the keys and then telling the devs they will handle the porting and all they need to do is point them in the right direction. If Windows 10 works as intended, it is well within their capabilities...

I've been getting in touch with my library thanks to the BC. I don't think its the 360 version but Happy Wars looks good on Xbox One. I hate to admit it, since its fp2 garbage, but I have fun with that game.
It's sad to see that most of Recore's negativity comes from technical Issues I wish that they would have used Unreal Engine instead of Unity for the game. The good thing is that in the end Microsoft won't lose a ton of money on the game because it wasn't expensive to make (40$ game/"Cheap" Engine/Very Small Dev team) I hope that they earn a profit and make a sequel and use the 1st game as a learning experience on how to make the next one better.

They really need to release the game on Steam, I think there are many people on Steam who like these kind of games (old-school mechanics and stuff) and ReCore definitely has the potential to be a good franchise. Steam sales should ensure a nice extra income to maybe justify the development of one more game.

I wonder if a patch would work it out because I stillr eally want the game despite the technical issues.
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

Thanks to mostly D4, I made it into the top 3000 on TrueAchievements by TA score and top 2500 by Gamerscore.
I guess it's good they're polishing South Park but now I have to pick another game to play on December. Dishonored seems to be getting some hype. Or Watch Dogs maybe. We'll see.
I'll be playing ReCore in two hours! 😋
