This will sound weird, but I hope the Xcloud stuff is a lie. Well, the requirement at least.

Same. Requiring developers to support xCloud will chase away developers most likely. Japanese support is already hanging on by a thread, this move could completely kill Japanese support.

It could be handled entirely by Microsoft though. You can think of it as something like BC. You'll have to approve your game being streamed if you want it published on Xbox.

In that case, I don't think it will matter.

"Staying small and staying agile will actually be our strength"

I think expectations for The Initiative should be lowered a bit, there's some expectations going around that they'll be huge (Due to Microsoft's job posting outright saying AAAA) but this video seems to say differently, I reckon they'll start off similar to Ninja Theory now Tbh, small teams working on AAA feeling experiences and slowly grow to around The Coalition's size. Then who knows from there, I hope it means their game will be out sooner though.

The main development team does not have to be huge.  MS can contract out specific work to other teams within their first party. You really do not know what they will be doing or the type of games until we see something shone.

I agree. They can assemble the creative minds write a story, design the gameplay and the art direction and when it come to the grindy work, they hand it to the Sumu, Splash Damage or Skylab of the worlds. By "small and agile" the might mean a portion of the team will work on the story, another portion will work with a developer on the art and another portion will work on the gameplay mechanics with another developer. They might end up working on multiple games simultaneously.

In summary, they might be a bigger, more talented Mistwalker with a much much higher budget.

It doesn't make since to hire all these high level talents to end up being a small team.

They will 100% be working on a AAA game imo, people like me originally believed that they would be the new Coalition for MS. You don’t need to be over 200 devs to make a AAA game, Just look at Arkane and Ninja Theory who are both just over 100 staff, Asobos and Frogwares new games also both look AAA and they are also just over 100 devs too.

This is also potentially good news because this could mean that we might actually get see their game sooner than later since they won’t have to staff up so much.

Hi all
Hope everyone is fine
Cant wait for e3 :)

Started Assassin's Creed Origins today and wow what a game.
I must admit though the introduction was pretty poor but once I got to Siwa the game got really good.
I love the quest system, the graphics are absolutely gorgeous (except for NPC faces, I think they look worse than in Unity and Syndicate), beautiful crafted cities and landscapes. Incredible details (like blood on the water when you kill crocodiles or throw a dead enemy in it). Quests are pretty fun so far.
It's still pretty buggy though considering it was released a while ago.
NPC AI does some weird things every now and then, mount pathfinding also isn't that good. One time, iIt was moving in circles. Another time it stopped right over a fireplace close to my destination. It got burned but didn't move further....

Well, we can rule out Turtle Rock being acquired most likely. They were rumored for awhile, but they likely wouldn't have just announced a WB game if MS was acquiring them.

I’m relived because I am not fond of them.

I don't understand why they even mentioned that. Because initially when xCloud was announced, MS stated that they will use the real Xbox hardware in their datacenters, which means that no additional work is required if the game already runs on Xbox.

Yes. Their portfolio is not that great. This gen they only released one game - Evolve and it didn't work well for them.

Dead or Alive 6 Core Fighters is out and free (much like Dead or Alive 5 Last Round: Core Fighters)
~30GB

Curious questions...Latest studio agreement...

Agreement could like mean Relic as second party and being in charge of AOE instead of being acquired, that is what I’m guessing because of his wording.

Hope that Iron Galaxy is developing KI4 but with more money behind it and a better engine as a next gen game.

As for Kung Fu Chaos 2, I would rather have Kung Fu Story instead. I would honestly love to see Ninja Theory make an Original fighting game since they are so great at character design, it would also add more mascots for MS.

Yeah, seems like they are making a 2nd party deal with Sega/Relic now instead of outright buying them.

I also hope that Iron Galaxy is working on KI4 for next gen.

Them not buying Relic would be the best outcome, I would rather they make 2nd party deals like they have with Splash Damage and Creative Assembly.

I’ll admit that I’m biased but I would rather see MS but more console focused devs.
