He may prefer Western games which is no surprise, most people outside of Japan and a few other countries prefer "Western" games in general and everyone has preferences. If it's about which region a game comes from or which genre it is. He might be a guy who doesn't want to pay Japanese devs to bring their games also to Xbox One (and it seems that's the only way that they would bring it to XBO) but that doesn't mean he hates the games, it just means he hates to pay for games to come to XBO. And that many Japanese devs don't even bring some of their bigger games to XBO is also their fault. Not sure if they expect to get paid or something but for some games there is just no reason to act as if there is no XBO. |
That's exactly why I personally don't like Phil Spencer as a head of Xbox. He is not willing to take the risks. Xbox is selling way worse than Playstation right now and if they really want to catch up they need to invest some in it. And Phil seems to not really care at all. He tweets a lot about investing in first party and all of this is yet to be seen. Microsoft is multi-billional dollar company and they have a lot of money and can afford to risk and invest a lot in games that will eventually pay off for them in the future. I'm really looking forward to see this E3 because it is rumoured to be the first true Phil Spencer show and I want to see the result of his work. Because it doesn't seem that he has done anything for the past 3 years to strenghten Xbox brand. Xbox One evolved a lot in the past few years and in my opinion it beats PS4 in everything except for the games which is Phil Spencer's job.
