He does obviously not "hate" them. He may prefer Western games which is no surprise, most people outside of Japan and a few other countries prefer "Western" games in general and everyone has preferences. If it's about which region a game comes from or which genre it is.

He might be a guy who doesn't want to pay Japanese devs to bring their games also to Xbox One (and it seems that's the only way that they would bring it to XBO) but that doesn't mean he hates the games, it just means he hates to pay for games to come to XBO.

And that many Japanese devs don't even bring some of their bigger games to XBO is also their fault. Not sure if they expect to get paid or something but for some games there is just no reason to act as if there is no XBO.

That's exactly why I personally don't like Phil Spencer as a head of Xbox. He is not willing to take the risks. Xbox is selling way worse than Playstation right now and if they really want to catch up they need to invest some in it. And Phil seems to not really care at all. He tweets a lot about investing in first party and all of this is yet to be seen. Microsoft is multi-billional dollar company and they have a lot of money and can afford to risk and invest a lot in games that will eventually pay off for them in the future. I'm really looking forward to see this E3 because it is rumoured to be the first true Phil Spencer show and I want to see the result of his work. Because it doesn't seem that he has done anything for the past 3 years to strenghten Xbox brand. Xbox One evolved a lot in the past few years and in my opinion it beats PS4 in everything except for the games which is Phil Spencer's job.

I'd agree about investing in IP they own plus studios but I don't agree that MS should fund all these games porting to Xbox One (Games that are already on mostly everything except XB1) Microsoft may well be a multi-billion dollar company but they all run on a certain budget and I think it's pretty obvious now more than ever that Xbox Division's budget has been slashed by Satya who as a CEO is in general pretty brutal and tries to squeeze as much profit out as possible from the looks of it so paying these Japanese Studios for porting would be a waste of money IMO but they definitely need to invest in games that they own more.

Yes but it seems that this year they are really running very low on budget. If this trend continues that won't be able to compete with Sony and Nintendo at all in a few years. It is evident that Sony and Nintendo spend way more money than MS. And the fact that Spencer can't convince Satya to invest more money in their gaming division shows that he really is not the right person to be the head of Xbox. Still, I don't want to jump to conclusions as of now and will wait for E3. Maybe Phil has some surprises.

If Microsoft cancels every game and announce Ninja Gaiden I'd be super happy. It is a dream I never thought it would be possible to be a reality.

It's also logical, because Sony and especially Nintendo's emphasis on console gaming plays a much bigger role for the company. Compare that to Microsoft - the Xbox division revenue accounts for just 2 billion out of 23.5 billion (3Q of the fiscal year). So, percentage-wise it's under 10%, while Sony is getting saved by PS and the revenue there accounts for nearly 25% (making it their highest sector). Obviously, in Nintendo it's basically 100%.

This makes it evident that the Xbox division and console gaming isn't as important to the company as it is to the other two.

Hopefully its the Ni-Oh team that is developing it, if the rumor is true.

This 4chan leak is terrible. Team Ninja doesn't care about Xbox ever since Itagaki left and there's no way Monster Hunter will come to Xbox one.

Edit: Also i have to agree with Crissindahouse. I don't believe Spencer hates japanese games, He just doesnt want to fund a bunch of ports that have the ability to sell good enough on their own.

I meant moneyhatting devs to release games alreay in development also on XBO. Not to invest money in new games made for Xbox.

Moneyhatting devs to release something also on XBO and not only on PS4/PC and maybe Switch is not taking risks.

And I understand that  he doesn't want to do  it even if it would help to sell more Xbox consoles. These devs will never stop to ask for money from you then but you have to get threm to the point that they will do it on their own. Maybe with some help but not with throwing money on them.

That leak seams too good to be true. Too many big announcements. I'd be happy with half of them.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Microsoft just filed for a new Logo in Game Software/Video Game Consoles

Sooo, keeping the Scorpio name? It was filed today.

If you look at the logo sideways it looks like the Infinity logo.
