Forums - Nintendo - Would you buy a ssb for ds.

>People who say not enough storage. Some ds cartridges go to 2gbs which is 1 less than the gcs disk.

To make a DS cartridge of 2GB space, it will probably cost around 20-30 bucks, and that's on top of the development cost.

I don't see a DS game pushing 50 bucks

I created a topic about this, I stated why Nintendo havent thought about having super smash on the DS or porting the N64 version, great way to make money and make gamers happy.

JUS is not Smash. As cool as it is, I need me some 3D polygonal fighting with more physics involved.
It's the closiest thing to Smash on the DS.

The closest thing to Smash is still not Smash.  I know JUS rocks, but it's not Smash Bros.  They're different, the system is different.  It's like "do you have Virtua Fighter?" "Yes, I have Tekken!"

The way fighters move, fall, the way punches cause the 3D characters to fly a certain distance and then start falling, these are physics that make Smash what it is, and with a refined system perhaps based off the N64 game, a SSBDS could certainly be possible.

And controls don't worry me too much, since Smash Bros. Brawl can be played with the Wiimote sideways, which is a D-pad, 1, 2, -, +, B on the backside and A for taunts.  The DS has a D-pad, A, B, X, Y, L, R, and these buttons are much more accessible than the -,+, B, and A on the sideways Wiimote.  The DS also has a start and select button, as well as the touch screen which of course can allow for custom buttons that can change during a game, or perhaps some sort of touch control scheme for the whole game.  It's definitely doable.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

If the controls are good, I would certainly buy it. I've never played mario basketball, but using the stylus for the Final Smash seems as if it would be too difficult/awkward, since I assume that it would mostly be D-Pad + face buttons. There are definitely enough buttons to make it, and make it well. But, who knows if Nintendo is thinking about it (it would certainly bring in a lot of money for them if they did, and would make a lot of DS owners happy = win for both).

No it is like a popup when you are about to make a special shot. You like scrape the stylus in the directions it tells you to and then you use it.

i would love to! is it out now!! nooooo

So most of the time you're using the D-Pad for player movement, and the special shot prompts you to use stylus strokes? If this is true, then I'd still be slightly skeptical at how it works. I'd have to try it out and see how it feels. But at this point, never having tried it yet, it seems as if it would be weird to pull the stylus out, only to use it for a few seconds. But that's just me. Maybe if I played it, I would find it natural and intuitive.

I think they just shouldn't port all of their series from Wii to DS and vice versa.

dont you guys realise that textures on a DS game are soooooooo low res that something that might be say 100kb on a wii game would translate to a few kb on a DS game, storage would not be a problem when your dealing with extremely low res content! Also characters can get away with alot of flat colours which would make your textures so tiny in size that 200+ mb is all you need. And dont forget that the DS isnt exactly pumping out some awesome crisp surround sound song that you might hear on the wii, the music files will also be maybe 100kb or less due to the massive amounts of compression. So you prolly wont have the content of SSBB but you could fit so much more on that little cart then all you guys seem to think

Keep it real guys, dont hate mario, hate the player

Currently playing:
Geometry Wars galaxies, Animal Crossing wild world, Pangya swing with style, SSX Blur

that would phail!!! What about games such a Pokemon D/P - a 2.5Dish game on a Wii??? and imagine SMG on DS - it couldn't handle it. Also, games meant solely for the DS (like games were touch is used extensively) could not be ported onto the Wii (such as Monkey Ball Touch and Roll)

Why? It's not like their competition isn't doing it--Daxter, Clank, GoW, MGS, Syphon Filter, SOCOM... It's not a bad thing--if you can make a solid portable entry in a franchise, why not?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
