Why do you predict things that you don't have confidence in?
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
You're wrong about Call of Duty, that's not going to Sony, despite the rumors. However, I wholeheartedly agree with the Star Wars Battlefront partnership. This alone could secure the holiday season for Sony. Star Wars is massive, it has massive mainstream appeal and with the the movie and merchandise launching, this is an epic win for Sony.
Yeah i dont think so. Ms will win atleast one if not more npds. And halo will be huge its halo.

battelfront is a shooter shooter are heavily favoured on xbox. the software impact for the marketing deal won't be big (nearly non existend in the us). bundle impact will depend on the pricepoint and what console will be offered. special edition. different color etc... |
Lol, the impact of the bundle is going to be massive, take a look at the effect Destiny had. And of course it's going to be a special edition.

Well, if that happen I will admit that I was wrong :) But with a price cut I'm 99% sure that Sony will win all NPDs.

Because my opinion is that with a price cut, Sony will easily win the holidays. Because I found this prediction too easy to make, I added a "what if" to make things a little more interesting. But I'm pretty confident about the outcome of both predictions, the one with the price cut and the one without.

1. Games like gears of war, mass effect (also on PC) and lots of JRPGs were coming in Xbox 360. 2. PS3 was loosing exclusives left and right. Assassins creed to DMC 4 all became multiplat. 3. As advertised supercomputer PS3 was struggling to put decent frame rate in same game compared to Xbox 360. 4. PS2 was still kicking PS3 in sales. 5. Xbox live was reliable, well designed and fun to play. 6. Xbox 360 was cheaper. 7. All of Sonys first party studios were struggling. If you really liked PS3 even after these problems then why not give a chance PS4. Lots of games to play. And wait for E3 for one / two AA / HD remasters for this fall. |
I didn't buy a PS3 until 2012, although I had been wanting one since at least 2009 so all those issues had been resolved. Besides, as you mentioned, PS3 had a lot of problems. PS4 didn't. PS4 should have a far superior lineup of games compared to PS3 at the same point in that system's life.
With most game systems, I can understand why they got the support they did. I understand why the NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, and Wii were the best selling consoles. Yes, even the Wii. Despite how much people hate that system, it did have a solid lineup of games from beginning to end. They were all marketed very well and had more exclusives than what the competition had to offer. PS4 is an anomaly in this regard. Yes, it was marketed well but the marketing behind the system wasn't about why it's so great. It was about why it doesn't suck. The exclusives aren't there to the extent of previous PlayStation consoles, even the PS3. Even Sony admitted that they were surprised by the PS4's success and aren't sure why people are buying it.
So yeah, PS4's success doesn't make any sense. The first few months did. But the first year? The first 18 months? I'll wait until E3, but as of right now it's looking more like I'll be getting an Xbox One before the PS4.
