Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why are so many games skipping the XBOX ONE?

I have to say that a lot of these games are either unfamiliar with me or niche Japanese titles which make sense to not release on the One. So yeah, I don't believe the situation is quite as dire as you make it out to be.

As far as I'm concerned the One has an incredibly strong and versatile lineup, and one which I personally enjoy greatly. Sure there may be the odd small title not present, but that doesn't mean it has anything but a great lineup.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I agree that MS should try to entice more japanese developers to port their games to the xbox one. It would make the xbox one's library more diverse and build a better relationship with the japanese in general. That will probably lead to better sales in japan and around the world with future consoles. People other than japanese play japanese games.

It would make a difference on here at the very least. If the majority of the world's gamers have similar opinions on it.....

A site full of Nintendo fans and about half of the Sony fans are going to pick Japanese. If you want the opinions of the world's gamers just look at the sales.

Most of these sales are the same games every yea = AC, GTA, Fifa, Cod

Its not only japanese devolopers but a lot of small european devolopers are skipping the X1 too. Tropico 5 for example is only avaible for PS4 and Xbox 360. No X1 version because its not popular in europe and the ps3 is too hard to devolope for a PC company.

1. GTA is not every year.

2. And? Are you telling me that there aren't Japanese games that get hyped up every year that are the same thing? How exactly does that rule out Western games being more popular?

Tropico/Magicka/Risen/Arcania are not Japanese games in fact most of those were games that were exclusive on X360. It is just if you like RPG's (JRPG and WRPG) you have to buy an PS4 because those look to be skipping Xone.

LoL @ SF was funded, but Tomb Raider money hatted.
Gotta love double standards.

OT: niche Japanese games that probably sell something like 200k worldwide outside Japan.

More like, gotta love misinformation. Capcom has not beeng doing well financially in quite a while and their financial troubles are very much public. There were even reports about the company facing a hostile takeover.

But yeah, sure, let's call it double standards and ignore the facts, because Sony.

its really funny how missinformed some people are, that or they are trying to forget the past... the news about Capcoms Financial troubles were very public and it was a topic debated by a lot of people just to post some videos about the topic:

Also just to be clear, SFV would have happened eventually but it would have taken years for Capcom to get the money to get the game going, so Sony partnering with them made the production of the game possible now, instead of waiting till 2018 for the announcement of SFV.

Also here is an article that proves that Capcom wanted to make SFV but didnt had the money to make it at the time (2013 when they were having financial problems): http://www.usgamer.net/articles/street-fighter-producer-doesnt-want-series-to-end-with-iv

No but they are niche. Once again, the sales say it all. These are not popular games excluding a street fighter port.

We also know that SE was not happy with TR sales and MS financial help convinced to make a new one =p. Moneyhatting/Funding in the end is the same only fanboys love to find a big difference between the two and fight about it.

You are totally right they are niche...And?  You consider having the same games + exclusive niches does not mean a thing?

Again further misinformation. This is getting out of hand. SE were not happy with TR sales after the first month the game was out. They made one statement publicly then and people took it and used it for years as if SE remained unsatisfied with sales. Not only were they happy with how well TR ended up selling but it exceeded their expectations. Here's a link so that this misinformation can stop spreading
