I wouldn't be surprised if VGChartz reports it something like that, with the actuals being considerably lower.
It has a big shot. Climbing preorders everywhere now, but I do think Japan is its biggest market (first week). It has surprised though definitely.

Highly doubtful.
Japan has sold through its first shipment which is approximately 120-150k.
That would mean that the market outside of Japan would only account for 100k.
This prediction is a little too conservative.
I predict that Splatoon will reach 450-500k worldwide in its first week.
