Forums - Gaming - Why all this negativity about Sony, all of a sudden?

I think the hate comes from this perceived need for Sony to play tit-for-tat for every move Microsoft makes. Much of this is driven by the XB1 apologists that have ignored both Microsoft and Sony's playbooks for the first 9 months of the year.

I recently realized that Sony could kill all their first party studios and sell ONLY multi-platforms and I'd still be happy with my PS4/Vita over the XB1. I get a steady stream of games that are appealing (multi-plats); that play better than the competition; that I can remote play on my vita; and that are more likely to have have cross-platform play. Additionally, PS Now lets me play an additional catalog of games that I skipped... or didn't finish on my PS3.

However, I still prefer Sony exclusives to Microsoft anyways. I'm in a severe minority -- but LBP3 > Halo 5 imo. I am so entirely burnt out of shooters and sports games that the whole XB1 genre focus sickens me.

First of all, this is my first thread, so please be patient and forgive me if I make some mistakes while making it. Also, I hope that this topic won't bring heated discussions, so please make civil comments, thank you.

Now, back on topic!

I can't help but feel how much negativity grew around Sony recently in this forum. And I honestly can't understand why. Sony recently released three exclusives in the first part of the year, two of them are new IPs and Bloodborne is considered by most people a masterpiece. Not to mention that PS4 still has most exclusives and therefore more games than the competition (I'm talking about Microsoft). Yet people keep complaining about how Sony first party output is insufficient (not that the competiton did better) or that they keep delaying games (like everybody do). And know, coupled with the fact that Xbox One won the last NPD, the same people expect nothing but disappointment from Sony during E3 and fireworks from Microsoft, just because Spencer has to tweet even when he goes to the toilet.

To those people: chill out.

Everyone knows that all of Sony's studios are working on new games, you don't have to be afraid of losing your investment. Tons of games will come for your console of choice when the time is right. Surely Sony too will have surprises for this E3. Now all of a sudden is essential to have all the huge, expensive AAA exclusive titles for the holiday season? While risking that your games don't sell well because of the many and great third party titles that are coming out? Is it so different to play Uncharted 4 four, five months later, just to make an example?

Please share your opinions.

For the second half of the year, Sony's line up is horrible compared to Microsoft. No one is wrong about that.

this year:
The Order 1886
Bloodborne !!!!
MLB15
One Piece Pirate Warriors 3
Persona 5 !!!!!
No Mans Sky
Hellblade
God of War 3 Remaster
maybe the Uncharted Collection or Tales of Zestriria
Until Dawn

Teareway
Dragon Quest Heroes and the better 1080p multi-games. So, i think - its a awesome year for the PS4.

The first three already came out, so it isn't an holiday line up.  One Piece Pirate Warriors is coming to PC and also came out.  Persona 5 still only has a "2015" release date. No mans sky is an indie game (but its still exclusive). Hellblade???? The remastered version of GOW is coming out in July, so it isn't a holiday release. Uncharted remastered is still unknown. Untildown is another "2015" release date. So that leaves teareway for the holiday season. Also quality vs quantity, and most of these aren't triple A's. Ok, microsoft has Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza 6, Ori and the Blind Forest, State of Decay remastered, Gears of War remastered, a new Rare game (hope it isn't bad), screamride, and Fable. Most of these are triple A games. So maybe it has "less" exclusives. But it also has much better ones to. Now of course both Sony and Microsoft could reveal more stuff at E3, but I'm doubtful.

Ori and the blind forest, screamride. I admit not great but there's stuff. Anyway I was talking about the holiday line up, which is "nonexistant" for Sony.

Not trying to be super negative, but it's hard when the 1st party games I was looking forward to most this year are now set for next. And to many I imagine the defense of "it's okay, we're getting Tearaway HD & No Man's Sky" sounds a lot like "it's okay, we're getting Screamride & Ori." (Not saying they're bad games, but not on the same level as Bloodborne, Tomb Raider, Halo, or even Ratchet & Clank.)

Also, I like to think PlayStation fans are vocally critical when need be, not just taking everything their company of choice dishes out with a smile and saying "it could be worse."

It's the hipster mentality. If someone's on top, these "gaming journalists", or super cool and unique (as they like to see themselves), have to find anything wrong with that thing that's on top, because it makes them feel better about their opinions in the end. The gaming community on the internet are the loud minority, and sometimes you've just gotta ignore them.

Because it's warranted and because some people just expected better planning from Sonys first party after the PS3 and for some this simply doesn't have anything to do with the other parties, everybody delaying games or MS and Nintendo not having more doesn't somehow give Sony a free pass to not be criticised for those issues.

It's actually positive, if Sony sees that people are not happy with the job they've been doing they can improve themselves and might be better at avoiding those pitfalls should another system from them happen, so if I knew about a way through which I could directly tell SCE about my disappointment, I most certainly would.

As a blatant sony hater/ MS lover... I don't know if you really should be in this thread. You views are well known on this site regardless of what lineup either side has.

The point I'm making is why do people skip reality in order to find a way of perpetuating the 'no games' narrative for the PS4? There should be dozens of articles asking 'where are the XB1 exclusives?' but instead we have people pretending a year is two months long. If you can't see a bias here then I don't know what to say.

The PS5 Exists.

I have noted that the negative comments about Sony amplify when there is an important event approaching, as if to countermeasure Sonys promotion. This was certainly the case with The Order and now it is the E3. The motivation could be simply of commercial nature.

Boo fucking hoo. Crying over a little negativity, do you see xbox fans making threads like this from the constant hate campaign against them on here?. Honestly take this how you want but you Sony fans are just getting back what you give out. #dealwithit

This is a remarkable post.
