Forums - Gaming - I'm Calling It Now MGSV is the Next Big Thing in the Gaming World

And to think the last time I pointed out a certain user's affinity for hyperbole and exaggeration I got banned for it lol

Seriously man I'm as hyped for this game as anyone but does everything always have to be megaton, revolutionary, never been done/seen before, etc? I mean here you have literally made a thread about essentially nothing (previews we don't get to see till next month), and are telling people to look and see how clearly this shows a volcano of awesomeness is about to erupt on the gaming world......come on man. That's weak, and you know it.

mgs5 is maybe the best game in the future.

It will be awesome but not the next big gaming thing.

Well I'd love think so. I've completely slept on this game. It feels like MGS has lost the hype behind it in spite of the gameplay jumping leaps and bounds over 4.

I'd love to see this do huge things for hardware sales in september.

Doubt it. Nothing new, nothing interesting. More of the same ole' same ole'. Nothing wrong with what it is, but it's more of what it isn't.

So making the game open world, adding new multiplayer modes, adding dynamic weather, adding your own base that you can customize and defend from invasions, summoning allies, parkour, the balloon thing, new moves for Snake, dog companion, dynamic events that occur at certain times of the day, and a crap ton more isn't enough.  What do they have to do to make it enough for you?

Should I reiterate? It's nothing new. Everything you listed has been done before. It's not that it isn't enough at all, it's just more of the same. Quit taking it so personally.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

I'm a Kojima fan and I don't think this will have much of an impact. I also don't expect many GOTY awards, especially considering the competition. I hope I'm wrong though, I'd love to see another game of the same caliber as Peace Walker or better.

You said it has nothing interesting, do you need to read your post again?

Not exactly the most precarious limb to go out on.

MGS4 won the most GOTY awards in 2008.

I expect now this game to be in another level of critics or user love... I don't see any other GOTY game this year except MGSV.

Gamespot, IGN, Gametrailers, etc... all big sites will go with it.
