Exactly. It has all been done before. It's not that interesting. Nothing new, nothing ground breaking, more of the same. I'm sorry, I just don't agree with you man. I really don't think this is going to be anything too special. Will it be a good game? I'm sure it will. But I think you are blowing it out of proportion. I do not think it will be "the next big thing in the gaming world". That's all man.

MGS4 won the most GOTY awards in 2008.

I expect now this game to be in another level of critics or user love... I don't see any other GOTY game this year except MGSV.

Gamespot, IGN, Gametrailers, etc... all big sites will go with it.


I hate to break it to you but Metal Gear Solid 4 got buried by Fallout 3 in terms of GOTY awards given by publications. Fallout 3 got 51 GOTY awards from critics while MGS4 was tied for third place with 23.

Also, I can see this year being more competitive thanks to Bloodborne, The Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight. Honestly, I'd be shocked if The Phantom Pain Came in the top three, let alone at number one.

I do think this will be the highest rated MGS. Not because it is going to be the best, more than likely the high marks will come from being Kojima's swan song for Konami.

I guarantee most of the reviews will be rose tinted, and end with "If you never played a MGS game, this would be the one to pick up, as this is the series creators last version, now we can only imagine what P.T. could have been..."

What ever metacritic has this game at, minus 5 points off the top since most reviewers will throw extra points for the backstory of Kojima and Konami.

Kojima is one of the greatest developers of all time

and MGS game always break new records or ground in gaming like best graphics,mechanics,storytelling and design

all MGS game have aged well,few old games can say that

Though it's getting understandably high marks and get great sales, I don't think it'll cross into the territory of GTA or CoD level of influence. Mostly due to Konami being pretty cagey on how much they're willing to spend on marketing.



I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
