Well maybe if Sonic Boom wasn't a piece of shit, it would have sold better.

It really annoys me how publishers nowadays think 2 million is underperforming. The game has not even stopped selling.
As for Sonic, well, they shouldn't be surprised at all...
Edit: they should actually be surprised that it sold that much...
If 2.1 mil is bad, that's a problem with your financial management cause Alien Isolation is not that big and resource demanding games (financially speaking).
And Sonic Boom is the worst Sonic game since Sonic 06; any sales were too many.
Sonic boom was critically panned. It was not finished. And they call those numbers weak?
Sounds like terrible forecasting. 2 million sales should not be called a disappointment, especially when the Alien brand name generally equates to shitty games.

2.1 million for a horror game not entitled "Resident Evil" or "Silent Hill" is "weak"?
Sega, you need to sort out your expectations. You're crazy if you thought it would do much better than that, awesome game though it is.
Considering the cost of the license and the amount of platforms it was on I can understand why2.1 million is not enough but considering the Alien game that came just before it, it could have done worse. Also 12 million game sales across the company is pitiful.

Sonic Boom was just to push the new cartoon. I doubt the game flopping mattered much since it was developed in a week on a $5 budget. Alien Isolation is heart breaking since it's the only legitimately great survival horror game we've had on consoles since... probably Silent Hill 3.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
2.1 million is weak? That's better than most horror games! Heck, it was lucky to sell well since it was after the abomination known as Colonial Marines!
