Sonic Boom definitely weak sales (would have been a little better if released after the cartoon had been out for a while).

Which would also have allowed them to get the game into a state at least remotely resembling a finished product.

I still firmly believe it could have been decent if it's multitude of bugs and performance issues were dealt with.

They definitely could have delayed it a little but to polish it.

But I thought they released patches that got rid of most of the bugs (as well as downgrading the textures and lighting for some reason).

I thought this , Alien Isolation took over four years in the making, it was in development before Colonial Marines. I sat in on the development session at last years EGX . so i know this from the horses mouth so to speak. Alien Isolation released across five formats ,a even split see's only 420'000 sales a system. So maybe yes it should have sold more. But also people where on the fence because of the shoddy Colonial Marines ,which you can buy for a Pound Now.

In comparison Sonic Boom was developed in under a year and sold 620'000 units so far on two platforms.

In fact Sonic Boom should be considered a success for Sega , it probably cost a fraction of Alien Isolation to make.

And Sonic Boom is still selling at around £30 across the online sites. so it's still selling and i think will gain more sales because people are starting to come round to it , it's not that bad ,in fact it's a fun game, but not a Sonic TEAM Sonic.

Sega Does what Sega does, ,there not going to sell of their IP's , and there continue to do as they please. And I'm sure their not be going anywhere soon.

Yes it is frustrating where not getting the great IP's we once used to, but look at all those dedicated games they produced post DC on systems like PS2,GC,XBOX,Wii ,360 and PS3 and people did not buy them in any great numbers ,not because they where not good games , many where brilliant.

It's those COD,AC,GOW, loving modern gamers who have no diversity in there gaming, there just FPS,FPS,FPS,Fifa,Fifa,Fifa, . Brainwashed to accept the same games year in year out.

Blame those gamers for why Sega are making less console games and utilizing there IP's. What's the point they must feel as only a fraction of gamers will by them..

I don't blame Sega i blame those boring gamers, those gamers that have killed games as many who gamed in the 90's will agree.

2.1 million for a horror game not entitled "Resident Evil" or "Silent Hill" Dead Space is "weak"?

Sega, you need to sort out your expectations. You're crazy if you thought it would do much better than that, awesome game though it is.

Fixed that for you. Alien: Isolation is already more popular than any Silent Hill game ever developed. I agree with your sentiment though, being unable to profit off of over 2 million sales is SEGA's fault for mismanaging their resources.

Alien Isolation wasn’t the only game that Sega felt under-performed. The two Sonic Boom games released on Wii U and 3DS collectively sold only 620,000 units. This ranks as one of the lowest selling main entry Sonic games of all time.

And Sonic Boom is one of the lowest scoring Sonic games too! What a strange coincidence!

I honestly think Sony and microsofts rush to more powerfull and powerfull consoles is gonna cause a crash in games market and one after another these companies gonna leave or go bust. Maybe Nintendo has the right idea by keeping consoles weaker

rush?! lol last gen was one of the longest gens ever. The PS360 stayed on the market(and still is on the market) much longer than normal. Notice that the western publishers arent having that much of an issue. Lets not blame others for these Japanese companies incompetance, thats on them.

Alien Isolation did pretty well considering the disaster that was Colonial Marines and the damage that did the brand... And well, the less said about Sonic Boom, the better.

ugh, in the 90s it was platform, platform, platform, fighting, more platform. Nothing has changed the genres have just swapped, bet you werent complaining back then.

No its not gamers fault that Sega spent YEARS squandering confidence. Its not gamers fault that Sega put out a crap Aliens games, lied about what it would look like and then are upset the next Alien game didnt fly off the shelf, of course it wouldnt after Colonial Marines. its not gamers fault that they still cant stick to a Sonic formula that works and every game is so different than the last. Its not gamers fault that they have been putting Sonic games on a console that lets be real is kind of niche at this point. Oh your Sonic game isnt selling on a console with less than 10 mil sold? and it sucks? shocking. Its gamers fault that they cant release Yakuza consistently in the west cause Sega is scared, yup all gamers. Please
