| BruB said: I thought this , Alien Isolation took over four years in the making, it was in development before Colonial Marines. I sat in on the development session at last years EGX . so i know this from the horses mouth so to speak. Alien Isolation released across five formats ,a even split see's only 420'000 sales a system. So maybe yes it should have sold more. But also people where on the fence because of the shoddy Colonial Marines ,which you can buy for a Pound Now. In comparison Sonic Boom was developed in under a year and sold 620'000 units so far on two platforms. In fact Sonic Boom should be considered a success for Sega , it probably cost a fraction of Alien Isolation to make. And Sonic Boom is still selling at around £30 across the online sites. so it's still selling and i think will gain more sales because people are starting to come round to it , it's not that bad ,in fact it's a fun game, but not a Sonic TEAM Sonic. Sega Does what Sega does, ,there not going to sell of their IP's , and there continue to do as they please. And I'm sure their not be going anywhere soon. Yes it is frustrating where not getting the great IP's we once used to, but look at all those dedicated games they produced post DC on systems like PS2,GC,XBOX,Wii ,360 and PS3 and people did not buy them in any great numbers ,not because they where not good games , many where brilliant. It's those COD,AC,GOW, loving modern gamers who have no diversity in there gaming, there just FPS,FPS,FPS,Fifa,Fifa,Fifa, . Brainwashed to accept the same games year in year out. Blame those gamers for why Sega are making less console games and utilizing there IP's. What's the point they must feel as only a fraction of gamers will by them.. I don't blame Sega i blame those boring gamers, those gamers that have killed games as many who gamed in the 90's will agree. |
ugh, in the 90s it was platform, platform, platform, fighting, more platform. Nothing has changed the genres have just swapped, bet you werent complaining back then.
No its not gamers fault that Sega spent YEARS squandering confidence. Its not gamers fault that Sega put out a crap Aliens games, lied about what it would look like and then are upset the next Alien game didnt fly off the shelf, of course it wouldnt after Colonial Marines. its not gamers fault that they still cant stick to a Sonic formula that works and every game is so different than the last. Its not gamers fault that they have been putting Sonic games on a console that lets be real is kind of niche at this point. Oh your Sonic game isnt selling on a console with less than 10 mil sold? and it sucks? shocking. Its gamers fault that they cant release Yakuza consistently in the west cause Sega is scared, yup all gamers. Please
