Sonic Boon sold poorly and deserved it, in this case the fault was obvious. No sonic game should be selling less then 1m and really 2m should be the goal but they be hard to achieve on Wii U alone.

It didn't sell nearly as poorly as it deserved.
As for Alien Isolation, simply look at ANY game released during the same period (early 2014) and it makes zero sense for them to expect more. Like really the only games that sold significantly more then it throughout the year were the massive blockbusters; Titanfall, Watchdogs, Destiny, the established IPs Fifa/COD/Mario etc... Again no one should be making horror games which need 2m to break even. If they wanted to profit a ton, the game should have been budgeted to break even at the 1m mark.
lol, looking at the sales history of the aliens series Sega is truly clueless.....

I just want to point out that they never said it needed more to break even or to make a profit. They probably did profit. They just wanted more. It would be a similar situation to Tomb Raider and Square Enix. The game did well, but SE expectations was even higher
None the less, Alien Isolation is an outstanding game and id recommend it to anybody

Yeah, but I guess the question is why? Like Tomb Raider (2013) revived the franchise, bringing it close to its sales peak in in th 90s (5m on PS1). Similarly alien performed just as well as every other AAA title that didn't have a 100m marketing budget and bundle deals (Dragon Age Inquisition, Wolfenstein, Diablo, Theif) and its not an action game and the series as always seen sales below 2m.
But anyway this is just an issue that the industry needs to adjust to, not every game is going to become the next 5m seller and they need to budget appropriately and carry equally appropriate sales expectations.

Alien isolation wasnt good? yakuza wasnt good? have you even played these games? i doubt any one would revive ips like shenmue or panzer dragoon if they would be sold off. The gamers these days are to be blamed for not buying enough sega games

Hence why these sales are so disappointing. Why it was given so much money is another question. |
Oh? Let me rephrase. It LOOKED like it was developed in a week on a $5 budget.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

This conversation reminded me of the time when I claimed that New Super Mario Bros. Wii had a development budget of over $50 and somebody asked me for a source in a serious manner. |
Kresnik's been reading too much NeoGAF, everyone loves asking for sources on that site.

Source? I can't find any comments of that kind on NeoGAF.
