Yeah, I agree, we need to make it damn clear we won't stand for this rubbish. The necessary anger is there, we just have to harness it into usefully channeled criticism.

I have a very simple idea. Hey nintendo just do 2014. No seriously just do 2014. It had the perfect E3 formula. I posted it in another thread and now I'm half asleep so I can't exactly remember what I said.

E3 2014 was pretty much perfect as far as I'm concerned. This year felt like a cheap imitation of that with no good surprises, and no one likes that. E3 2016 can be good if they just do 2014.

Anyway I'm not disappointed. I got the one thing I wanted more than anything else in 1 package. That mario rpg crossover has day 1 written all over it even if I have to make my bank balance hit 0 just to get it.

I don't think the issue is necessarily that it's Metroid, but that this is the first Metroid game revealed after a 5 year hiatus. It's just the last thing anyone wanted to see.

If a 2D or 3D Metroid was unveiled and then this game, I don't think there would be any problem.

Game doesn't look good to me. Can't believe they worked more than 2 years on something so subpar.

I didn't like Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon either, so NLG just isn't a very good studio imo.

If it hadn't Metroid in the name the backlash wouldn't be nearly as bad, but no one would care for it either. It's just not very interesting of a game. Like Codename Steam.

Exactly, nintendo gained nothing positive by bringing this game before an actual metroid game. Imagine what would have happen if nintendo released metroid pinball before metroid prime, but it was the opposite way so nobody made a big deal about metroid pinball.
