The biggest problem with this conference was Nintendo wasted all their ammo before E3. Devil's Third trailer, the Chibi Robo reveal, extra FFV details, extended info on FE, the Bravely Second info, the Smash DLC, the list goes on. If they had just not had any of that and rather packed it all into a faster paced conference, it would have been loads better. And they rushed through stuff that needed HYPING. XCX is a holiday title, it needed an amazing trailer not just a passing mention. And as for all these spinoffs, they should have made a THOSE the passing mentions. And why the crap did they have their indie conference stealthily shown before this? They should have had ALL that in their conference plus more (Fast Racing Neo). I mean, their list of E3 trailers on YouTube would make you think they at least had a pretty god conference. But several of those weren't even in the conference. Ugh.

That's pretty much it. They could have had the perfect digital event but they didn't oh well. My problem now is the crazy amount of doom threads on this site again. Wii U has games coming and more in development. So there was more 3DS focus during E3 so what? I really hate how if nintendo does mess up one thign the entire world jumps on them and due to the fact of hwo Wii U is performing they start the doom and gloom around it as well. Its annoying, especially when certain people state things when you know they were hoping for a terrible conference. E3 isn't the only time we get game announcements and yes we expect it to be big but to nintendo it looks like its just another direct at this point. Next year we get new hardware reveal so that's something to look forward to but right now I saw a lot of games I want, the problem was the lack of overwheliming new games /splatoon big kind of game. I still say everyone's over reacting.

Also here are some box arts of the games mentioned in the conference and elsewhere:

I do think some of you are overracting to this, but I was the one walking around telling people not to get hyped.. but nobody listened to me.

It was terrible regardless of hype. If you were hyped then yeah that probably made it worse, but it'd still be awful even if you weren't that excited like myself.

But the fact is it wasn't terrible. It just wasn't that good. For me I got a bunch of games I would kill for on 3DS announced and trailers to games I'm looking forward to. The downside to me (cause IDGAF about metroid) was the amiibo and Skylanders segment. Once the game footage kept flowing I enjoyed it. People are just looking at the bad and not the good from what I've seen. Nintendo never said they were going to give you metroid on Wii U yet people go in year after year hyping themselves for it. Now people were hyping Paper mario. Intelligence has been working on FE, and SMTXFE and codename steam in the past few years so why the hell would anyone think Paper mario U (even if it is in development) would be shown? I was disappointed but in retrospeck the only disappointing was the ton of Talking for me. If they just did less talking and more games I'd bump it up to an 8 but as it stands its around a 6.5-7/10 for me. The over reacting to one bad event is what's truly got me upset though. "Urgh no this game, I'm never supporting nintendo again". If I watched sony and Microsoft I'd feel 10x worse about theres than I do about nintendo because from what I've heard 0 of their games would have interested me.

That's not a fact, the only fact is most people found the direct terrible. I would argue that it was objectively bad though. Of there like, what, 5 newly announced games, 1 is just a port of a not even a year old game, and the rest are spin-offs using assets from existing games. The only Wii U game shown requires amiibo and somehow managed to make Mario Party even worse. While there was no official confirmation, this still sends a pretty obvious message in regards to how much longer the Wii U and 3DS have, especially in conjunction with the Zelda delay. The majority of the rest of the direct was just filler, with them spending much time on games we know literally everything about, but then not giving us new info on the ones we don't. Most of these were games we knew about since last E3 or even before that, yet they still left out Devil's Third and Fatal Frame. Strange as you can tell Nintendo was just trying to fill out the hour by how they had those developer stories which iirc were usually separate from the main presentation. Then they end things off by showing Mario Maker again after having zero newly announced installments/IPs.

kudos to the 2 nintendo employees who have been recognized that their 4 stages in NWC would be part of the final version of Super Mario Maker.

People taking this is a bit to far. The game doesn't look that half bad... Really it doesn't.

Context matters.  Given the lack of any real Metroid and their emphasis on three ( count em, three) spinoffs and other idiocy, this game comes off like a kick in the nuts to hardcore Metroid fans.  Everything is magnified when everything around it isn't up to snuff.

Wow, I finally got back into VGC. The site has been down for me since the Digital Event began. Here are my feelings a good 6 hours after:

Positives:
+Illusory Revelations #FE still looks hella good. Coming early 2016.
+Fire Emblem Fates localized footage, early 2016 too.
+Xenoblade X confirmed date, too bad it's December though.
+LoZ: Triforce Heroes looks interesting, glad it's a 2015 title. Will probably pick it up.
+Star Fox: Zero developed by Platinum. Very good reveal, just needs to be polished
+Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam next year. Should be an interesting game
+Yo-Kai coming this year

Negatives:
-Too much time spent on Super Mario Maker
-Too much time spent on Skylanders (no one cared)
-Too much time spent on Yoshi (we've seen it all before)
-Metroid is not Metroid
-Animal Crossing is not Animal Crossing
-Amiibo were everywhere. They don't need to be everywhere.
-Important games like Fatal Frame weren't even shown in the direct
-No new Paper Mario for Wii U. I get there's the crossover, but that's not a replacement
-Mario Tennis? Really? That's probably the least wanted Mario Sports game. If you're gonna do them, at least make a compilation. Very underwhelming reveal for the Wii U.
-The ending was extremely awkward with no new announcement

Not the worst Nintendo E3 (that goes to Wii Music 2008) but it was a dream killer for sure. 5/10
I'm not really angry anymore since there are still a lot of titles I'll get this year, and the 3DS is seemingly revived, but if they would've shown titles beyond early 2016, there wouldn't have been an issue. Nintendo, please wake up and listen to your fans.

Basically completely agree with this, (I would score similarly too) so great summary!
