Ryu looks amazing (and super OP). I'll be excited to see how he plays when someone masters him, but he also looks like one of the most difficult characters to play as (also, motions in Smash? What is this madness?!?!)

We probably wont.I think that was the point of making this smash bros only direct.And i do have to agree it is a bit too expensive, with the exception of Ryu, which seeing he is very different from everyone, it is a fair price.

Decided to make a thread that will help Smash Wii U or 3DS only owners to split the cost of the Roy, Ryu, Lucas and Kirby 64 stage:

User B said:

System: Wii U

Buying: Ryu + Kirby 64 stage

System: 3DS

Will Buy: Lucas + Roy

Since downloading Ryu + kirby 64 for Wii U and 3DS cost $10 as well as Lucas + Roy, Wii U or 3DS only owners can split the cost evenly. If Nintendo sends us codes for downloading for both systems, we can exchange the codes later

Protip: If you set your Wii U to automatically download the Smash 4 update today, it's best to delete that update if it hasn't been working since 8 AM PT.

To get it downloading properly now, just start Smash 4 on the Wii U menu and wait for the Wii U to restart the download again. May take a while but it will actually begin downloading update this time.
