Forums - Gaming - What's the proportion of original titles, remasters and crossgen games in current gen systems?

I love how cross gen games by your logic can't be considered "new games" (even in instances where PS4 and XB1 were the lead dev platforms).

I also love how cross gen games is a good thing as soon as Nintendo NX launches and shares games with Wii U. How conveniently.

Some Ninty fans never fail to amuse me. Thanks guys X'D

Dig up any thread about a game being revealed as cross-gen and look at the amount of people complaining.

Not complaining now would be hypocritical.

Believe me. I want the devs to go current gen only but I don't get why a cross gen game can't be considered a new game and an original experience.

Please explain that to me. :)

This is why crossgen needs to die

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

A game being cross gen isn't really that bad of a thing unless the last gen versions are holding the game back which I don't really see.  Look at a game like Shadow of Mordor, the last gen port looks like shit and the nemesis system is a shadow of itself in the current gen version, but that didn't stop the current gen version to be what it should be.  The nemesis system is fully fleshed out and the game looks good.

Godd job on the list but since this about the proportion of all titles to remasters is it really fair to include games that have yet to be released? Would we not also have to include original titles yet to be released in order to get the real ratio?

Absolutely its fair. They're going to be release, therefore exist, so they count lol

When I was making the categories, I needed to differenciate the new titles that came out on next gen systems only with those that were also avalible on last gen. Of course crossgen games are new games, but I thought the difference would be clearer if I separate them that way.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Like Lafiel said it'd be more fitting labelling current gen only games "current gen games" instead of "new games". It would make your agenda more subtle as well.

I'm wasting my time. Won't bother you anymore. I'm outtie.
