PS2 >>>>>> PS3 > PS4

People say PS3 was a flop... It was a beast imo!!!

This is kind of shocking to me...

For the people that are shocked: The PS3 sales during the first half of year was pretty strong, the problem was the holidays.
1 million in the US is not so big, expecially 350k in November... pretty bad.

PS4 is gonna to sell in November more than what the PS3 sold in Nov+Dec. So, PS4 will definitive pass PS3 at one point.

It was considered a flop because of two reasons. First, the PS2 was untouchable so people expected the same with PS3 and two, the 360 sold much better at the start, and beat it handedly in the US.

I don't consider anything that sells 80 million, or whatever the PS3 ended up selling, a flop... but yeah.

Now, do you understand why the people believe is not so easy for PS4 sell 100 million? If the PS3 didn't, is not easy for PS4 hit those result...

Except that US is not the center of the world, PS4 is doing much better in Europe and the rest of the world, and being first console in US, it will do more than PS3 without a doubt ( PS3 never got COD bundles) since it's already ahead by a considerable amount even there . Unless you think no console will hit 45M this generation while both did last generation ? 

Exatly. PS4 will never break the Wii or 360 numbers in the US. It will sell more than the PS3, but not at Wii360 level. (in the US)

Wow, even below PS3.

This is flabbergasting to me. The best selling console in the US is selling below the worst selling console last gen. I expected PS4 to be doubling ps3 numbers.
