Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsofts big E3 announcements are pretty much all already out there.

i feel like last year MS really reached pretty far to put on last year's show. we know for a fact now that phantom dust was in pre-production when they announced it last year. rumors have it that crackdown didn't even have a developer at E3 and frankly the CGI trailer for phantom dust/crackdown/scalebound with no further announcements in a (almost) year really makes those games feel like a reach.

either this E3 they have not much to announce or MS shoots for the moon and announces their wishlist of every game they anticipate making from now until 2018. i'll go with the latter because this year is make or break. if they don't turn things around with halo 5 the generation is officially a runaway for sony.

Kinda what Nintendo did with their early 2013 Nintendo Direct?

Yeah possible, but I honestly question the effectiveness of announcing games that are over 2 years away from launch at this point in time, CGI/Teaser trailers for games that are that far away and that aren't part of huge franchises really have a hard time of grabbing people's attention, look at Scalebound for example the trailer for that doesn't even have 600k views and that was pretty much the most hyped of the 3 CGI trailers shown by MS last year.

Maybe they will announce more exclusive money hating title like Tomb Rider, i don't know what , you can guess. But i doubt they will just announce tittle from last year. Microsoft is full of pride, they will not just let everything slip to SONY favor this year, they have the budget and if you are working with SONY i bet you will not underestimate them.

maybe but i'd bet against is.  publishers just can't afford to ignore (even for a while) the biggest audience.  as ps4's lead grows the cost of MS to money hat a game gets bigger and bigger.  at some point (even if ms can "afford" it) it's just a waste of money for ms.  a timed exclusive won't make people switch consoles,.. i'll just wait my 6 months to get tomb raider.   an exclusive or 2 helps more but a AAA exclusive won't come cheap.  ms would have to pay the entire development cost most likely.  an indie exclusive will mean nothing.

frankly, ms's best opion if they want to invest in xbox long term is to do what sony did during the ps3 gen.   buy/create more first party studios.  it's the cheapest most reliable way to get exclusive games for your system and does a lot to excite the fanbases.

As I said before, I think Microsoft's press conferences will be predictable with some surprises here and there.

- Halo 5
- Forza 6
- Rise of the Tomb Raider
- Scalebound
- Quantum Break
- Crackdown 3
- Gears 4 announcement
- Gears of War I Remaster
- The Division
- Rare's new IP(s)
- Phantom Dust re-announcement
- Another big 3rd-party game (likely Assassin's Creed again)

you forgot the gears remaster,.. i expect it to ship with a demo/beta access to gears 4.

you forgot windows 10,.. i think they'll spend a significant chuck of time on that and what it means.  i expect you'll hear a PR phrase like "window's 10 is enabling hundreds of games to be brought to xbox" and they will list the 2 or 3 games that are worth mentioning.

I just added the Gears remaster to the list :p

As for Windows 10, in terms for the XB1, I think it's going to be an OS overhaul/redesign + added compatability with Windows apps.

Just a little prediction that I want to make, I think that safe for 1 or 2 things all MS E3 announcements have already been either extremely unsubtlely hinted at or leaked.

Here're the 4 big new things that I feel MS is going to announce at E3 that we (likely) already know about:

Joe Montana NFL 16

Battletoads

Gears Remaster

Gears 4

And they already have Halo 5, Tomb Raider, Forza 6, Fable Legends, Quantum Break, Crackdown, Scalebound, maybe Phantom Dust as games not only for the show but also games that are releasing until sometime in probably late 2016. How much more could they really put in there? Unless they plan to go as far as 2017 with game announcements I'd say that we're maybe looking at 1 more retail game (Rare?) and other than that maybe a couple digital announcements.

I agree with you to an extent. The line up is already so comprehensive its difficult to conceive there are a great many more unnannounced major titles landing in the next 18 months.

As much as i agree with u, but reality is not that simple. I just guessing what will be the worst possible situation. Actually i hate money hating title as well. But we are talking about Microsoft here , If it's not SONY making the first move Microsoft will, i don't want to feel safe with SONY current situation like when FF 13 was announced back then for PS3 exclusively and in the end becoming multiplat (it really hurt my feeling honestly ) and Tales Vesperia exclusive on Xbox One in US is ridiculous movement by Microsoft. Microsoft is good for pissing of SONY camp like how they good pissing their own fanbase with DRM.

Going to be a solid showing from MS if they show the majority of that.

I don't see how they can reboot Battletoads tbh. Unless its a smaller digital only beat`em up or something.
