Quite Simply, for people who have had problems with their Brawl Discs, and had to get the laser cleaned, which way was your wii standing?

1.) Upright, with the stand underneath it.

2.) On it's side, with the Disc Slot Horizontal.

 I want to see if therewas any difference in the # of people with the problems.

That is what I did with my 360. It worked after that. I was trying to play gh3.

i don't think it matters what posistion your wii is in

My wii was vertical with the stand when I insert the SSBB disc, it worked

Well the error I had with gh3 was that it wouldn't save. Then I read on the internet if you put it horizontal it may work. So maybe it could work for brawl and the wii.

I'm thinking that more dust could have collected due to the Standing position of the Wii.

I have had problems with vertical as well as horizontal.

It is my Wii though, it gets disc read errors occasionally after being off for a while. I'll be sending to Nintendo sometime soon. It's happened twice out of the 15 or so of my Brawl power-ons.

I doubt it ..my wii on a stand sitting ontop on my Wii box that it came out of. I have carpet so its pretty dusty. And brawl play find.

I'd suggest waiting until the worst Brawl problems are solved, since if the problem is somewhat large, you get your Wii back quicker that way. Your problem definately sounds like the lens would collect dust and would be static. When you turn Wii on and the disc starts running, it blows some of the dust away. How long it needs to be off before the problems occur?
