I'd suggest waiting until the worst Brawl problems are solved, since if the problem is somewhat large, you get your Wii back quicker that way. Your problem definately sounds like the lens would collect dust and would be static. When you turn Wii on and the disc starts running, it blows some of the dust away. How long it needs to be off before the problems occur?
