Just a little prediction that I wanna make.
We all know that Amiibos are all the rage right now, but I'm personally doubtful of how long that trend is going to continue on the basis that those figurines are still mainly bought as collectors toys and not for gaming purposes and if Nintendo has any sort of perspective then they are probably thinking something similar.
Because of that I'm sure that Nintendo is going to finally release a game that requires Amiibos to function sometime in the next 2 years.
The reason I believe that this is going to be on their next system is that, like I've said before, I don't think that Nintendo is too interested in making many more new pushes for the Wii U and that they already teased their next platform.
Imagine in 2017 when all those people that have amassed huge Amiibo collections finally see that one piece of software released that makes those figurines really worth it, they'll buy the thing and the new platform it's attached to in a heartbeat I'm sure.
