Forums - Gaming - bloodborne chalice dungeons

RANT: ok who came up with the "brilliant" idea to make dungeon where pretty much the only "reward" is finding items that you need to enter a new dungeon? all i can say is, that if i knew in advance that 99% of the loot are either "keys" that you need to advance or useless items, i never would have started this ordeal. 2-3 additional areas added to the normal game would have been a much better idea than this stupid, unrewarding, timesink of a dungeon.

something that needed to be said. the rest of the game is very good though.

The real rewards are in the root Chalices, but yeah Chalices are slightly disappointing.

Yeah, you just get a different version of a weapon that's pretty much the same...

Hmmm Did you die in a dungeon before making this thread? Just curious.

i'm platinum now and of course i died a couple of times once i got to dephts 4 and 5 but that is not what motivates me to make such a rant. it simply was an effort clearly not worth the reward and that's untypical soul inspired game. that's all.

I always thought the real reward were the Bloodgems, got some damn good ones, also it's a superb place to farm blood echoes; i started the dungeon trophy around lvl 80 and when it was all said and done I was around lvl 130 and I really didn't farm, I just had the moon rune and explored every nook n' cranny.

They aren't the best thing ever, but I enjoyed the challenge. So whilst another area or two in the main game would have been nice, having the Chalice dungeons really are a nice change of pace.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

It's pretty obvious to me that the chalice dungeons were implemented during the last third of the development of the game.  I am sure they will be WAY better in Bloodborne 2.

Yeah, if there was better loot in the dungeons they might have been a worthy addition to the game but they're nothing but a time sink.

I'm working on my Platinum now and I'm down to the Chalice Dungeon one and the weapons one - missed the Eileen quest line completely the first time around -. I gotta say I'm enjoying the dungeons as they're offering a pretty good farming spot, and some decent rewards with the bloodgems. Also, most of the key mats can be sold off if you have them in excess so you can consider it Blood Echoe farming.
