Hey hey, take a joke. I'm a jokester. I am serious about what you all think however. With all the Halo Hype, I wanted to know if anyone else thought the game could get Xbone back on track with PS4.

You should clarify that this is US only because it is impossible(unlikely) that any single game would make up the deficit globally let alone Halo which is only big in US and UK.

And while 1 game can change how a console is selling, its a completely different question to ask if it will eliminate the PS4 - XB1 US Gap. To do so would require outselling the PS4 considerably for a long time, and while Halo 5 can potentially boost XO to outsell PS4, there is the issue of duration and whether or not Sony does anything to mitigate this.

Price is arguably more effective then games in selling consoles, and considering PS4 weathered last holidays with a couple of bundles and have effectively nullified the ground XO gained, it will take a lot more than Halo 5.

Halo 5 coming in the week ending 31 October...
Maybe XBO can outsell PS4 this week globally... maybe.

No way will it put them neck and neck. It may boost sales a little bit, mostly in the USA, but that's about it.

It absolutely should outsell PS4 in the week that it launches. It would be really poor for X1 if it didn't.

If we're talking about worldwide, there's nothing Microsoft or Nintendo can do this generation to catch up to the PS4.

The US and UK are completely different though. In my opinion if the PS4 doesn't get a price cut for the holiday season then the XBO could take the lead in both markets.
