BruB said: Whether or not you liked the Wii or not, it has some great titles. And that's why 7th gen overall was better then this current gen, all three systems had many exclusive titles. If you are a multi platform gamer like myself, 7th gen was good place to be and for many still is. But i would have to say 6th Gen was the most legendary Gen of all time,, Dreamcast -PS2 - XBOX - Gamecube,, wow |
It may had a lot of good games but not a great controller in my eyes
I agree that gen 7 was pretty dreadful. Gens since the 5th have been going downhill.
This gen isnt wasting time with gimmicks yet (though morpheus is coming) and its difficult to tell yet ofc (If we factor in portables then its at a definitive loss). So far, the biggest problem of the current gen is the relatively smaller ammount of software in offer. The previous generation made a leap the market wasnt ready for with the HD. It killed alot of development houses as a result and shrunk the variety of software on offer.
Will this gen be better than the last? Perhaps, but something tells me they will keep trying to shove gimmicks down our throats instead of simply focusing on making great games.
I think seventh gen got better with time. By 2011 or 2010 it was in a very good position with numerous amount of 'AA' games and exclusives being relesead to stop it from becoming a bad gen.

I would say that the 5th gen is one of the more lackluster ones tbh...

That you have been a PC gamer and all that. It's pretty straightforward that you've been a PlayStation fan all the way through. Your thread reminds me of vivster's from a few months back where the PS3 had to be put down as a necessary evil to make the PS4 look good. |
Yes i was a PC gamer. It was playstation then pc and now playstation althought i bought other older consoles too. but believe what you want
7th generation was an awesome generation (best generation imo)!
PS3, X360, Wii, PSP and NDS were all very very successful and had a ton of great games!

This. The videogame market grew a lot in that period, and with that, tons of new software appeared. We won't see such an output of videogames in decades, even with the indie boom.
I hated the 7th gen, but not for the same reasons though. To me; the 8th gen appears as nothing but a continuation of the last one and it appears to aim for exactly the same tosh that made me shun the 7th gen.
It appears I'll stick with more or less only PC this gen as well, which is not a bad thing in my opinion, it's expensive to be a multiplatform gamer...
Somewhere down the line, I will probably buy a PS4 and possibly a Wii U but as it stands; there is no chance of me getting either, it's just not worth it and probably won't be for some time.
7th Gen was legendary and is a contender for best gaming gen.
